i forgot the thread on here but i read about clear nail polish and have been having a lot of success with it. usually coating anything internal helps- shoulders and knees especially.
i read about 'knifing' the polish into hard to reach places but haven't tried that approach. i use floss picks and coat the floss with the polish and just floss it in. moving it back and forth as you would a tooth and trying to get as much of it inside as possible, wiping off the excess. let dry and repeat until tight. |

Can you use a small section (say 2mm) of a rubber band to replace worn ball joint gaskets?

I've done that sometimes, but frequently they are a bit too large to fit comfortably in the socket, and the upper thigh won't fit flush. They do fit a little better if you remove the gasket altogether. Or you can try wadding up little bits of those thin clear rubber bands frequently used in packaging (assuming that's not what you were referring to in the first place). Those are also good for adding friction to ball-joints like shoulders; they'll usually tuck in out-of-sight in the shoulder cavity. I did this with my 4'' Falcon Captain America, for example. I also did this with the hips on my Mattel Allosaurus, since the body weight can sometimes cause the hip joints to slip in some poses. Had to use a few bands, but it worked.
