Well, that vintage collection Falcon, Slave1, and AT-ATs have gone up to 3-4x on the secondary market compared to their retail price.
The barge is considerably more exclusive, and I'm assuming will be a smaller production run than other items. I backed off on a second one myself because I was afraid the size and price may be too prohibitive to flip down the road. I'm guessing 1500-2000 in 8 years or so, assuming the barge is not re released to mass etailers later on. But as always it will go for whatever the market tolerates.

Damn. Sorry to say, I kinda want to buy to scalp it later on. I'm a jerk, I know.

Heck the Barge will hit a $1,000 a few days after release, and thats not counting the Yak Face pack in figure that comes with it. I've seen some people are already selling the Yak Face figure for $300.
The Barge will probably top out around 2,000 by the end of next year. It's going to be the Star Wars equivalent of the USS Flagg. |

With that being said, I have a ton of respect of some of these folks helping international fans get their barge at no or little profit. Their goal is to simply help the sales to meet it's minimum. I love altruism. Quote:

More power to you guys. I cannot do a USS Flagg a third time. If the barge goes through and if Hasbro starts making Joe toys again and if they put a Flagg on the table.... Do you guys know how much real estate that thing takes up?!?!?! I really, really like the current Mrs. Blayze. I can’t completely blame the Flagg for my first divorce... but it didn’t help. I’m out. Let’s just get some Joes on the shelf at the Walmart.

I'm in. Not into Star Wars at all, but if this can lead into a GI Joe project in the future, I must support it.

This looks like it might happen. Unfortunate. Not being able to afford one now...I might quit Star Wars entirely.

I know exactly how much space a Flagg takes up. I haven’t parked my car in the garage since getting one.
Sean, I sympathize with your frustration. As a completist, I backed but keep praying it somehow doesn’t go through. With MTF, Boss Fight, and Solo all hitting at the same time, this was an expense I just didn’t need. I’m more angry at Hasbro that this is getting made than excited. I know that they exist to make money, but my kids’ college funds are suddenly in jeopardy. |

Part of my reasoning (or lack of) is that there's been opportunities for the Falcon and the AT-AT (vintage, large, smaller, etc), and there's some on the used market. You can in theory, get lucky and get a decent version at a good price. That's not gonna happen with the Sail Barge. This run might be it, for like, ever. There's no older Kenner/Hasbro release that's smaller but you can get so "at least I have a version".
And the other thing. You plop $500 for this. Then what's the next thing? Something a fan also "Can't live without". |

Dude, don’t spend what you can’t afford, assuming you’re serious. It’s not worth going broke over. I’ve decided if I want something like this, I will make room by selling off the less desired parts of my collection. I avoid completion syndrome which isn’t very gratifying to me. A smaller, more manageable, more affordable collection has been way more satisfying.
