This here is Joe Colton's pal...
L.E.O.N.A.R.D. (Lifeform Engineered for Observation; Neohuman Autonomous Robot Defender). I'm L.E.O.N.A.R.D., I'll Be Your Host For This Adventure by Monte Williams, on Flickr L.E.O.N.A.R.D. is a veteran of the Adventure Team. His contributions mostly take the form of lifting heavy things. If he had his druthers, he'd just play all day. The toy's actual name is something of a mouthful: AnkouEX: T.I.A.H. Dirty Swine Mode. The manufacturer is ThreeA. There's also a version sans weathering (if I had more money I'd get that variant to represent photos captured twenty or thirty years ago), and a dark green version I nearly went for since he matches Colton's clothes, but he has "Very Bad" stenciled on his face, and L.E.O.N.A.R.D. is in fact very good, so... Oh Boy, Toys! by Monte Williams, on Flickr There's a Thin Line Between Adventure and Avenger by Monte Williams, on Flickr Yes, I've decided that Joe Colton and Nick Fury were teammates in the past, although in which organization is hard to say, as Fury's spy background makes his past murky and his loyalties uncertain, and Joe Colton has been involved with everything from the Adventure Team (itself rumored to be everything from a misguided but harmless sort of diplomatic force to a club for trophy hunters and missionaries using archaeology as a cover for military interventions) to the BPRD and the Dharma Initiative. There's a third party sixth-scale Six Million Dollar Man I'm hoping to add to the ranks soon, and I also seek a Hot Toys Jyn Erso (or at least her head and a decent female body and some cool clothes) to kitbash a G.I. Jane. In the meantime, I have more in mind for Colton, Fury, and L.E.O.N.A.R.D. (if you think Colton's Harley is badass, wait until you see the robot's sweet, sweet ride!). |

I'm back in Idaho for a few days, scrambling to complete my internship hours.
Naturally, I had to visit my old toy photo haunts. |

Another portrait of Joe's pal and colleague, Nick Fury (and the final such portrait; I shipped him off to someone else yesterday):
And a few new shots of Joe: Not gonna lie, I'm a bit proud of the sense of scale in this last shot: I don't think I was even on tiptoes to place Joe Colton there, but it sure looks like a vast cliff face for him! Last edited by Monte Williams; 04-19-2018 at 12:11 AM.. |

Thank you so much, kuh_rupht! I'm glad this toy has given me cause to share photos at the Tank again. This place defined and consumed my hobby for years, and I sorely miss it.

Longterm, the chances are slim, as I keep nothing; my entire toy collection currently consists of twenty-something figures, and most of them I only keep long enough for a shoot or two. That said, while I did part with Hot Toys Nick Fury this week, I decided to keep Joe Colton for at least a little while longer, so there's hope. Also, I have a goofy new project in the works that's at least tangentially Joe-related. |
