With a bunch of smaller Joe focused cons in the US, I can see vendors and community getting together to form some unofficial GI Joe fan cons on a larger scale. The community has a whole lot of big dealers and supporters, just need an organizer to help set it up and bring everyone together for a big Joe get together.
Some shows like JoeLanta and such could perhaps grow? |

Once the club is gone, I hope they “break the mold” ! I appreciate what the club did & I liked the 15 figure box sets, but out of all the box sets, I only bought 3! Either I couldn’t afford them, or I felt they weren’t worth the price. Hopefully, Hasbro will do smaller sets, with a lower price point. If they did seven packs, like the BBTS exclusives, I might be more inclined to participate on a more regular basis.

The G.I.Joe Collectors Club Convention will no longer be of any concern to us. I have just received word that Hasbro has dissolved the Collectors Club permanently. The last remnants of the Old GIJCC have been swept away forever.

It’s been discussed before, but I would really like to see a “basic assortment” line between now & the next movie line. If you don’t know what the basic assortment line is, it was also referred to as the “Dollar General Joes” or the “dollar store Joes”. It was a small assortment of 3 Joes & 3 Cobras, released in 2 waves, with a change in paint apps. It included Shipwreck, Snake Eyes, Duke, Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow & Cobra Trooper. Anyway, I’m Curious to know if there would be support for the idea within our fandom.
I don’t know how to set up polls here, but I’d like to see a poll, yes or no, would you support another “Basic Assortment” line? I know we’ve been through hiatus before, but i’d hate to see Joe completely disappear from retail. |

For basic assortments. They could crank out arctic, desert, jungle, Night, or whatever scheme they want POC Vipers and Troopers/Officers all day long and I'd be happy, and mix in some Joes to oppose them.

Here is my prognostication:
I'm presuming they are killing the club because they have other plans, plans which will almost certainly fall through. 2021 will come with no real news on a new film or toy line set in any sort of stone. All we'll have is the yearly Comiccom exlu$ives. By then, we'll all wish we had the club back as it drags on into our generation's retirement years....

I already know I will hate whatever Hasbro has to offer post club with their shared universe nonsense. It will be sad to Joe die, but really I have over 500 figures from the modern era figures, which is miles ahead of the number of figures I have for any other line I have ever collected. I will lament any ME figures that may never be made, but all in all we all have been able to re-experience some fond childhood memories over these last ten years and what more could we really ask for.
