The 2008 assortment doesn't work for one main reason. BATS! It came with 6 and God know we don't need more. The Joes were the Three pack that year. It could go with Headman, Gristle, Asa Negra with 6 Headhunters and 6 Headhunter Stormtroopers? Then a Joe 3pack with Bullet-Proof, Mace and Long-Arm? Although with no BATS, then no Hotwire, but I am OK with that. Maybe they could do Cutter with the NLC painted SHARK 9000 colors(the boat not Cutter) Or add Asa Negra here as a vehicle driver for the Cobra Rat. I don't know if they have any of these molds anymore, but they would fit. Personally I would prefer a 6 Joe 9 Cobra mix, but I don't mind an all Cobra set. Random Characters I would like to see possibly make this DEF Vs Headhunters set: Mace Bullet-Proof Mayday (DDP version is an urban assualt specialist) Asa Negra Armidilha (although I am sure people would prefer it be called Beachhead) Demolishor (I know he doesn't fit but maybe he switched sides?) Crimson Guard Commander Vs Sonic Lt Falcon as a shout out to the cartoons? If there must be BATS, make it a BAT COMMANDERS SET- Hotwire, Overkill (robot) , and Over Kill (cyborg). One will need a rename.

Wasn't the next 3 pack, Night Stalkers, to go with the FSS 6 one?

We were trying to predict which 3 pack will be revealed as a convention souvenir in late June of 2018 in Chattanooga. Mostly guessing and wishful thinking, because the convention theme has not been announced or even hinted at yet by the Club.

I typically talk myself out of con-sets because of the price, but I would have to bite if it ends up being DEF vs Headhunters. Those are some of my favorite figures.

This is more difficult to fabricate than I thought. But if I were building this set, I might do it like this:
Attendee gift – Headhunter Twin Battle Gun D.E.F. vs. Headhunters 15 figure boxed set- Bullet-Proof (1992 colors) Cutter (1993 colors, using Skymate’s head) Law (1993 Battle Corps) Long Arm (not sure which parts, but could be used again for FSS Countdown) Mace (1993 Battle Corps) Mutt & Junkyard (use the 1993 version that was intended release for D.E.F.) Shockblast (the 1992 D.E.F. Shockwave) Headhunters (x3) Headhunter Stormtroopers (x3) Gristle (new headsculpt?) Headman (headsculpt of Dojo) Paradrop figure – Roadblock (1992 Battle Corps, using headsculpt of Guillotine) 2 pack – Asa Negra and Brutus (both of the Brazilian Headhunters characters) 3 pack- (this one has me stumped… which three troop builders, if Stormtroopers are in the boxed set?) Shark 9000 (using a COBRA Fangboat from Retaliation) Headhunters A.P.V. (using a Steel Crusher from ROC) with Headhunter’s Driver

I would be all over this set. Asa Negra could be the paradrop figure as well. He was packaged with a glider, but it could be anyone now. Backstop as a parachute figure doesn't really make sense.

3-pack: Mayday from DDP, Ballistic from Extreme, and Lockdown from Sigma Six.
Others to consider : Checkpoint from Steel Brigade is a Military Policeman. Lt. Stone, Inferno or Long-Range from Sigma Six?

One more oft forgotten figure is Lockdown (G.I. Joe Law Enforcement/S.W.A.T.) from the 8 inch scale 2007 Sigma Six line. He could do well in modern edition style, (but I doubt the Club would even remember that character).
The 2012 Concept Vault included a 30th Anniversary style troop builder figure called G.I. Joe Police Unit 4, but I don’t know if collectors would want a law enforcement version of the Greenshirts. Edit: Oops! I see you just beat me to that idea by at least a half an hour.
