I didn't really have a suggestion for a better build. I just wouldn't want to force the Club into trying to make a figure, where the parts aren't there. It would be hard for the Club to fudge Marine dress blues. They'd have make a completely new one time use figure, unless they had time to release some honor guard multi-pack.

I'd bet based on their clue about cold ambush that the con set will be cobra la in some capacity. Maybe it'll utilize movie joes that we haven't gotten properly -
1. Duke using 50th flint parts
2. falcon using the newer build
3. roadblock using any of a variety of parts
4. chuckles in v1 colors using 50th parts
5. an unmasked Jinx... That's 5.
Maybe an improved wetsuit (I've seen dozens of good customs, many without paint apps even) for 6?
Then the Cobras will have
7.an arctic CC
8&9. Golobulus (taking up 2 slots because of his tail)
10. serpentor using DVD build and classic colors
11. nemesis enforcer (it's been a bit and they'd color the arms to match the v1 toy)
12-15. 4 Roysal Guards.

Then for the FSS's - keep in mind, Brian and the rest of the club are probably collectors too and would want to complete sets that have been started...

It would be awesome to go out with a Stars and Stripes set in modern format, or a set based on the Mass Device or Marvel ARAH #1. It would be a nice conclusion to the modern era line with the characters that started it all.

I'd also love to see the Cobra-La set with Golobulus, Royal Guards and maybe arctic versions of some of the Joes but we all know that will never happen. That opportunity passed with the 30th Anniversary being this year.

yeah..I'l probably complain about that. In the end, the club does what it can to keep Joe fans stocked with Joes, each and every year. I still they they are high priced, but for some people, i doesn't matter and is worth every penny.

My prediction is that DEF vs Headhunters is a realistic pick for next year's con exclusive set, and would actually be a very cool idea. These came way...wayyyy after I was buying Joes, but there are quite a few Tankers who think of this era as THEIR Joe era. I truly hope that the hardcore guys get every figure that they want and that it somehow softens the blow of losing the club. Thankfully, there are some great companies like Boss Fight, Marauders and others to carry the 3.75" figures forward into the future.

I think HASCON will be telling in how HASBRO will now handle the Gi Joe property. Toys as a whole are losing traction in the children's market place and Gi Joe may be one of the lines that falls victim to a virtual world ruled by APPS, online gaming and console gaming.

With all of that said, I see 2 more FSS's, one more CON and a lot more bitching about figures. As long as we are bitching about figures...it means some are being made. The day that they stop making figures is when the bitching will finally stop..and we will all pause, ponder and reflect on 30+ years of collecting these little figures. (and probably start collecting Star Wars, ha ha)

I doubt that they would make another version of 21. SM Spirit and 12. Toxo Viper, because they would be focusing on making figures that haven't been modernized and duplicated alot into different versions.
