The Transformers II Line is not selling like the first one did. That is a VERY bad omen for ROC.

Kids like different things then the adult collector, so maybe it won't be so bad. I was looking in the Star Wars section at TRU and this kid wanted some Super Droids and Destroyer Droids and didn't even look twice at the Clone Troopers; adults only pretty much go for the Clone Troopers. Maybe it will be the same with the ROC figs; old dudes will buy up all the Baroness, Cover Girl, and Snake Eyes figs and the kids will buy all the weird looking Vipers and crap vehicles. *crosses fingers* LOL.

As we are die hard fans but we wont buy everything they put out anymore. as cash flows are very tight right now and kids dont care about toys like we did. they could care less what comes out.
they are about games online and play systems.
we have become the main source of cash flow for hasbro and other lines. They have to STICK WITH WHAT WORKS!!!!!!!!!! they need to have a cartoon on the air agin either Resolute toned down for all ages or just for the adults. either way movies dont work all the time. TF is big cuse it is a good action flick. so everyone loves it. even die hard fans though they hate what bay did to it they go and see it as thats all there is now.
times have chaged and i think for the worse when kids dont have a childhood where they can play with toys and use there imaginations. so for us it has fallen in to our hands to keep that part alive with us and our kids.
HASBRO DONT TRY SO HARD. What you need to do is go back and look at the 80s and see what made it work. IE cartoon that is not a Japanese anemia toon. have some F**king toy commercials dont do everything online. go back to the roots of joes.

Unless their parents' are avid Joe fans, the only way most kids will know about Joes will be when they see them on store shelves - even then, I doubt they'd be interested in them since they have no clue about them - no saturday tv cartoon. The movie will certainly help. Now, they actually will be looking for these toys (hopefully) but as the original poster stated, the majority of these toys would probably be snatched up already by adult collectors. So, I agree - we might be hindering the growth of the GI Joe franchise. Short term, it's good I guess in terms of sales. but will hurt it in the long run.

I just hope scalpers or anyone who works at collectable shops won't be buying Target/Walmart exclusive packs constantly when those stores reshelve the pegs. I did not see the Walmart War Machine colors Iron Man fig last year on the pegs.

Take a look in a week and we'll have a better idea of how well or how poorly the TF2 line is doing. Nevermind that Hasbro has probably produced such a massive quantity of TF2 toys that it'll probably be nigh-impossible to have bare shelves.
It -looks- like TF2 isn't selling, but as I've said many times before: FULL SHELVES DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY EQUAL POOR SALES. They can just as easily be a sign of frequent restocking.

There are no toy commercials like we had. What worked then won't necessarily work now. Hasbro's a multimillion dollar company, I'm pretty sure they have a better idea how to run their business then we do. Hell, the majority of us don't even have business degrees.
I think you need to get off the Resolute kick. It's not the savior of Joe that people think it is. Tonig it down for the kids would cause as much of an uproar as RoC does. There was already a decent number of people that weren't happy with the changes Resolute made. Resolute was anime-style. If Hasbro thought Resolute was what would make the Joe line grow, it would already be in the works. Resolute was a one-off, done for the old school fans. It would be a great series, but it's not a good series to sell toys from. Why bother toning down Resolute when there's already a line to use with the IDW comics?
If RoC doesn't work out, the best thing Hasbro could do is make the Joe line match the comic book and tie the two properties together. Work out a deal with IDW (who already produced the last sets of the comics that came with the toys) to put the IDW comics in comic packs with Joes designed to look like the comic versions.
What made Joe work in the 80s was the ability to watch a Joe on tv, read about that Joe in a comic book and then go to the store and buy that Joe.
Hasbro has their model for Joe already, with Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Kids are buying those toys. That's what works, and that's what made Joe big in the 80s. The cartoon and the tie-in with the toys. That's where Hasbro needs to go.
But this is the '00's, so they need to it by today's standards and not the '80's.
The '80s are over, time we all stopped living in them.

it would help alot if there was toy commercials and more advertising for joes, thats for sure, seems like hasbro doesnt advertise this stuff anymore.
