To answer the question at hand, "no".
I never heard of a kid who army-built. Begging for one figure is hard enough (I know from experience). Begging for squads? Hell no. Hasbro is also pretty good (with a few notable exceptions) at keeping crap on the shelves. The recent army-builder wave stayed on shelves for awhile, and gave everybody who didn't have troppers, ninja, air-troops, PP officers, or CGs a chance to grab them. Kids will likely grab the key players first anyway, so unless it's a chase figure like Blowtorch, then the kiddies should have no problems.

i think what will happen just like with the 25th line is that they will not pack the cases right. Mark Bellomo said it best why there are hard to get figs is cuse how hasbro packs there cases.1 troop bulider to 2 of each main charters. also what stores order what cases. hasbro them selves have a part in scalpers. by making rare figs that have a limited run . so no it wont be cuse of us it will be hasbros / stores fault.

I don't believe "our" buying habits will affect the availability of this line to children. For starters this line is going to be produced in much greater quantities than the 25A/ME line was, with correspondingly wider availability. With 25A/ME, a single collector could wander into a store and wipe them out in one visit, leaving shelves bare for another week or two as they ordered new product. I don't think that's going to be nearly as possible with this line, especially at first.
Secondly, I don't think the "mega army builders" who strive to buy dozens if not over a hundred of various particular troop builders are that huge a segment of the market. From most polls I've seen here and on other boards where troop-building is concerned, most people seem to build "squads" and not "armies." If you happen to live in the same town as a "mega army builder" then I'm sorry for you, but it shouldn't affect the majority of children being able to get the stuff they want.
Lastly, while the actual number may or may not be as great as some folks think, there definitely are older collectors that simply aren't going to buy the movie stuff. Maybe they'll make an exception for an occasional figure here and there, but by and large they won't affect the availability of the line.
I can see a few figures being hard to come by - Pit Commandos, Para-Viper repaints (maybe...the first Para-Viper was pretty available around here), Target exclusive EELs maybe, but by and large most of the line will be pretty plentiful. If nothing else, there's a wide variety of Neo-Vipers and Neo-Viper repaints coming out that will keep plenty of troop builders on shelves.

Case packs may have alot to do with it, but then how many kids really troop build like we do?
I never saw a single EEL in the store. Saw plenty of the other figures in that case so I know the stores ordered more then 1 case, but never a single EEL.

You're assuming kids even collect figures nowadays. Look around at all the 25th figures rotting on the pegs at clearance price for proof. If the Joe figures made for the movie ship in abundance like Star Trek, Indiana Jones, Iron Man and Hulk there will be plenty to go around for everybody.
I don't buy all I see every time I see it. I'm not like that and I never have been. But you better believe when i go to a store and see the one figure I've been looking for (and there is only one left) I'm taking it. No regrets.

I think there will be plenty of everything, at least for the first few waves. After that it just depends on how well those first few waves sold. I think the scalpers won't be an issue at launch because of how much stuff will be available and same goes for any adult army builders. Plenty or ROC stuff will be out there for all that want it. After the first few waves, that might change, but if the lil' kids are buying the stuff up the stores will keep ordering and stocking it. If the lil' kids aren't biting and the first few waves sit on the shelf, well then all the collectors and army builders won't be able to save Joe. I really don't think the adult collectors will have much to do with the success or fail or the ROC line regardless of how much we buy or don't buy.

Kids don't care about GI JOE. All they are into Video Games, and Japanese games. I don't think this movie would make a major impact on kids - they think it's just another war movie. They don't view GI Joe as super heroes. Unless the cartoon is coming out. Is terminator a big hit for kids? That's give you a lot of hint there.

Honestly I don't think that by buying up all of the limited supply of the 25th Ann figures we did any real damage. That line was aimed at grown up's. With no cartoon or advertising the 25th line was not on kids radar. If we do take all of the good ROC figures we would only be hurting our self in the long run though. The kids may be hunting for these. If they can't find any because of collectors that could kill the line.

quite frankly, i think the quality/appeal of the line is very important to its growth. if the appeal is there for the market - regardless of what demographic makes up that market - the figures will sell, hasbro will see profit and/or profit potential, and they will continue to expand the line. if it is a question of sheer quantity and availability, i doubt that will be a factor if what is done with other successful lines is done here; i.e. super-ultra-mass market flooding. all the other lines that have expanded over the years have the same dichotomy of fans (kiddies vs. collectors/scalpers/etc.) and have thrived nonetheless, and i don't see anything particularly different about Joes. i really feel it all hinges on the appeal of the toys.
