Too many people try to recoup money from the shipping cost, because there item either never sold as well as they thought, or they are just looking to make extra cash because they are greedy.

Why bid on an item if you think the shipping is unfair?

You don't have much of a choice if you want the item. As well in my case, I check with the people before hand, asking if there is a difference for the postage to Canada, and I'm always surprised when they come back and say there is. Some times I find the price difference acceptable, but if its out of wack and I still decided to buy it, and then it comes in the mail for like a $1 or something, they are getting bad feedback because basically they just scammed extra money out of you.
I'm sorry, but everyone knows that over charging on shipping is a huge issue on ebay, as its not regulated.

this m*****f*********m****cii999king asshole ... i sent him like 40
back issues of Dragon Magazine and told him I'd let him know how much shipping would be (cuz ebay won't let you charge more than $4 for shipping in the mag category without knowing the weight and i'm not gonna drag 40 issues of Dragon to the post office to weight it etc fukk that)... and he was all OKAY. give you ten guesses what happened after i shipped it and sent him the bill for the costs. yeah i get it... i took a short cut and trusted the dude to pay for the shipping in the end... and i got snubbed.... HOWEVER I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE.

well all I know, is when someone charges me say $10 for shipping and I get the package and it says $2.50 or something else not even close to the amount I paid, they get a very very low rating for feedback.

As a buyer, I hate getting jerked on shipping prices. Guess what, Sellers? You make your money on the item you're selling, not on shipping.
As a Seller, I ALWAYS refund any and all overages that may occur when quoting shipping. If I underquote, then I eat the difference. As a seller, the only thing I get for free is boxes from USPS. Bubble Wrap, Printer Ink...all that costs money. As such, I factor in maybe $0.25 extra on the auction and/or item I'm selling, not shipping. |

to a certain extent, i understand the sellers who say that buyers need to read the descriptions carefully for shipping cost and information. however, i think that the problem of exorbitant and excessive fees charged by some supercedes that. eBay is very clear on what can and cannot be included in shipping/packaging/handling fees, and there are very clear guidelines as to what is considered violating that policy: eBay Excessive Shipping Fee Policy.
