I can't stand idiot sellers who put "AFA" in the title of everything they sell even though the items they are selling are not graded.

That's really my only gripe though - more or less every single other seller I've dealt with has been really great. |

The buyer is in the first position to judge whether they were happy with the transaction. They have the item they paid for in hand. The seller is not in a position to make an accurate judgment on the buyer until he knows the buyer is not going to file false claims against the seller. At least with some kind of feedback the seller knows that things are OK. Even then, the buyer has tons of time through their credit card company to come back and screw the seller. Once I sold a camera, and almost 3 months later the buyer disputed the charge with the credit card company even after they left positive feedback. What happened was this teenager broke her parents camera and replaced it with one she bought from me using her parents card. When the parents saw the charge they didn't know what it was and disputed it. At that time ebay didn't have a place to add a tracking number on the listing. So, much time had passed I didn't have it anymore. So, you see even way after the fact the seller can get screwed by the buyer. The buyer is in the stronger position to leave feedback first once they have the item in hand and are satisfied. I feel that if the buyer feels strongly enough to leave negative feedback they should really take it up with the seller first to see if the issue can get resolved. I feel that Buyer feedback shouldn't count toward seller ratings & vice versa. While there may be a strong correlation between buying etiquette and selling etiquette, there is no guarantee that one will translate into the other and thus they should be seperate ratings. |

So... I just received my M.A.S.K. Meteor... and it is seriously fucked up. Here's the auction:
M.A.S.K. METEOR ~ 1987 KENNER ~ | eBay And my reply to him describing the damaged parts: Quote:
I'm pretty disappointed with this Meteor vehicle. Nowhere in the description does it say that the treads do not retract. I looked at the photo and you cannot tell in the photo that they are out... and even if you could, you cannot tell that they do not retract and stay in place. On top of that there is a brown substance all over the tank part that connects to the jets nose section (something you cannot see in either of the photos). And then, to top it all off, one of the pieces that locks the nose section into the tank part is completely GONE... again, not mentioned in the description, and NOT VISIBLE in your photos. If you are not going to put in an accurate description, or SHOW the damaged parts of the vehicle, then you should not be selling on eBay.
I was already very patient with your slow shipping, especially after I received your explanation. But this is just ridiculous. Scott |

M.A.S.K. METEOR ~ 1987 KENNER ~ | eBay And my reply to him describing the damaged parts: Of course, there are "no returns" as part of this guys listing... and I'll probably be able toy use the parts I have to fix another Meteor that I have... but still. Do you guys think I'm out of line here? Broken pieces Missing pieces Discoloration Maybe a few other things that I can't think of. Because people have different ideas of what "good condition" is or MOC or even complete. For instance I consider complete to include the figure and all accessories. |

As a buyer, you have 45 days from the date of purchase to file a claim with Ebay or Paypal for either INR (item not received) or SNAD (significantly not as described). If your seller will not cooperate with you, file with EBay for SNAD. You'll have to ship the item back with delivery confirmation at your own expense, but you will get your original cost + shipping back.

Shills.
Sellers who have the auctions set to require payment immediately, but don't ship for a week or more. Auctions that are posted on here so I end up paying way more than if people wouldn't have noted it :P |

No, I don't sell much on ebay, but I've been around the block enough times to know how things go sometimes. Both buyers and sellers pull fast ones. That's my point. The feedback should go both ways. But, ebay has decided that sellers can't leave negative feedback so your point is moot about the seller leaving feedback first.

Shouldnt the camera thing be a form of fraud/theft since the teen took it? I have only ever had 3 disputes, one was from the guy that burned a lot of us last year on SDCC stuff, other two were from bad packing on Defiant sets that came in busted up. One seller tried to say I was screwing him and fought every step of the way and was telling me that I had to accept his terms and agree to his partial refund saying that I got it already and close the claim. the other guy knew it was busted and refunded the money as soon as I contacted him. The first guy from the SDCC, we never heard anymore about him and many of us lost out to him worth several thousands of dollars. |

Auction Closes In 1 Day: The only bidder, "xxxx198710", sends me a message saying, "i was viewing the item on my cell phone and my phone froze and hit the bid im sorry... so id like to cancel the transaction from my bid...again im sorry." So I canceled the bid. Auction Closes In 12 hours: "xxx224" placed a bid, becoming the high bidder. Then "xxxxguy" bid and took the lead. Then "dodgerluvrxx" had the top bid. Auction Closes In 24 Minutes: dodgerluvrxx writes to me, "hello... im sorry i would like to.withdrawl my bid". So I canceled the bid, making xxxxguy the top bidder again. The auction closed with no new bids. Auction Closed: xxxxguy writes, "Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience, but I tried to bid on this item as a Christmas Gift and once I was outbid, I went and purchased something else. As a result I cannot purchase this item. Please remove me as the winner for this item. Thanks!" So, within 24 hours, I had two bidders withdraw their bids and a third cancel the transaction. Not awesome. I ended up sending xxxx224 a second chance offer, since they were the only one of the 4 bidder that didn't back out. They accepted the offer and paid instantly. [shakes head, kicks a puppy]
