My peeve = Regardless if they're a buyer or seller, people who can't "remember" to leave feedback annoy me.
eBay is built around feedback. As a buyer, I shouldn't have to wait for a seller to leave me feedback. My end of the transaction is complete when I've paid for my item. Sure, some can say that it's when I receive the item...but why should I have to give feedback in order to receive it. Same with buyers...I leave feedback for buyers the minute they pay. Yet, receiving it in return is like pulling teeth. For example: 1,790 Feedback left for others 1,608 Feedback received from others That's a difference of 182 "feedback points." Quote:
I don't get how people can have different views on when feedback should be left. It's quite simple. When a buyer recieves the item and is happy with the condition, how quickly it was shipped, etc., they should leave positive feedback for the seller. Once, the seller knows the buyer is satisfied the seller can be confident the transaction was smooth and should leave positive feedback for the buyer.
The buyer needs to wait until they recieve the item. How can he judge shipping speed and condition if they haven't recieved the item yet. What if the seller sends a box of junk or fails to ship the item at all. The seller needs to be sure the buyer will not pull any shenanigans. He can only be sure the buyer is OK once the buyer leaves positive feedback. Doing any feedback beforehand is premature. Its the buyers who make ebay work, not the sellers! If no one used ebay then it would die, thats why Ebay tries to protect the buyers when they can. I dont believe that a buyer would leave poor feedback if they are happy with the transaction, but even if they did the seller can report it to ebay. Also if you are a good to great seller then most of your feedbacks will reflect that. I dont think a seller should base part of my feedback on what I leave for them, that taints what I want to say if I know they are willing to be negative even though I paid quickly, which incidently is the only real item we as buyers have to pull through on! |

Well, what if the seller pulled the shenanigans? Shipped a different item, or did piss poor job of packing or took forever to ship it!!

The buyer waits until they receive the item to make sure that the seller doesn't pull shenangins. 1)Buyer pays for item 2)Seller ships item 3)Buyer revieves item (he now knows shenanigans have not been pulled) 4)Buyer gives feedback on transaction, shipping speed, and condition 5)Seller knows buyer is not going to pull shenanigans and leaves feedback. I mean the whole point of feedback is to warn about people that pull shenanigans. |

if the buyer pays on time, why should he get negative feedback? there were too many sellers that got negative feedback for something they did like late shipping or bad description etc and they give the buyer neg feedback just to be a dick. the buyer should not get negative feedback if they pay in the allotted time frame

i hate sellers that have a best offer option but wont budge on the price. i sent a guy who was selling something for 35 dollars a 28 dollar offer, which was the average price for what the item had sold for. he countered with 33.50 and that was the lowest he would go. really?? a dollar fifty???

Negative buyer feedback would be a good thing. I don't use eBay all that much, but whne I bought, I always made sure to mind my P's and Q's so I wouldn't get negs on the feedback.
