I wish I could subscribe to the club for a cheaper cost, but I don't live in the US, so I have to pay customs for every shipment.
It ends up being only slightly higher to use BBTS and only ship once a year or when I go to the US get it shipped to me then. Also, my cc info was stolen via the club and the membership figure never arrived (Dial Tone) when I did sign up with them and they did nothing to fix it. Later I saw pictures of folks receiving Dial Tones with shipping notices on boxes glue over older shipping addresses, likely of figures that were returned to them. I still buy their products because I want to complete my collection, I just rather have reliable tracking and simplified shipping. |

Shadow Tracker MOC is averaging about $45. I was thinking he'd be a candidate for a TRU rerelease but now that those are done looks like he'll stay a secondary market piece forever.

We can use this thread to discuss the secondary market on ME figures. I did a study tonight on the eBay selling prices of the first 4 FSS series.
This is today's price ranking of the first four FSSes based on available completed, sold eBay auctions for carded copies: $140 - FSS 1.0 Big Boa $135 - FSS 1.0 Covergirl $85 - FSS 3.0 Bombstrike $80 - FSS 1.0 Dice $75 - FSS 1.0 Jinx $75 - FSS 1.0 Iron Klaw $70 - FSS 3.0 Slice $70 - FSS 4.0 Law & Order $70 - FSS 4.0 Billy Arboc $65 - FSS 3.0 Crimson Guard Immortal $65 - FSS 3.0 Spearhead $64 - FSS 3.0 Muskrat $60 - FSS 2.0 Cesspool $60 - FSS 3.0 Big Ben $60 - FSS 3.0 Repeater $60 - FSS 3.0 Frostbite $55 - FSS 1.0 Quarrel $55 - FSS 2.0 Keel-Haul $50 - FSS 1.0 Topside $50 - FSS 2.0 Desert Scorpion $50 - FSS 3.0 Hit & Run $50 - FSS 4.0 Tiger Force Outback $50 - FSS 4.0 Pathfinder $45 - FSS 1.0 Nano-B.A.T. $45 - FSS 1.0 Sure Fire $45 - FSS 2.0 Widescope $45 - FSS 4.0 Bullhorn $45 - FSS 4.0 Nunchuk $45 - FSS 4.0 Carla "Doc" Greer $40 - FSS 1.0 Blackout $40 - FSS 2.0 Big Bear $40 - FSS 2.0 Tollbooth $40 - FSS 3.0 Vypra $40 - FSS 3.0 Psyche-Out $35 - FSS 4.0 Interrogator $30 - FSS 1.0 Barrel Roll $30 - FSS 2.0 Dragonsky $30 - FSS 2.0 Night Force Falcon $30 - FSS 3.0 Alpine $30 - FSS 3.0 Night Creeper Leader $27 - FSS 4.0 Tiger Force Sneak Peek $25 - FSS 2.0 Tiger Force Shipwreck $25 - FSS 2.0 Skullbuster $24 - FSS 4.0 Inferno B.A.T. $24 - FSS 4.0 Ice Ninja Night Creeper $24 - FSS 4.0 Calvin "Jammer" Mondale $22 - FSS 1.0 Grunt $22 - FSS 2.0 Grand Slam $20 - FSS 2.0 Tiger Force Airtight $18 - FSS 4.0 Barricade $17 - FSS 1.0 T.N.T. $15 - FSS 2.0 Bombardier FSS 1.0 Total Price: $809 (avg. $62) FSS 1.0 clearly benefits from rarity, best demonstrated by Dice out-pricing Slice. Although that doesn't help T.N.T., who seems to be suffering from a dislike for obscure foreign characters and distaste for the Blowtorch mold. He is the second-cheapest character in all the FSSes. However, FSS 1.0 deserves a special prize for the only FSS to have any characters priced over $100, and I mean way over $100 for Big Boa and Covergirl. FSS 2.0 Total Price: $457 (avg. $35) This is the lowest-priced FSS of them all. FSS 2.0 clearly suffers from over-production, with only 3 figures breaking $50, and they are extremely popular characters who had the potential to rise higher if they were less common, including Cesspool, Keel-Haul and Desert Scorpion, who can at least brag about being the second most popular trooper in all the FSSes. This FSS has a whopping 7 characters going for $30 or less, including the lowest-priced figure of them all, Bombardier. And its mystery figure Grand Slam is the 5th lowest-priced figure in all the FSSes. Latecomers to the line must surely appreciate the low-cost availability of this FSS. FSS 3.0 Total Price: $719 (avg. $55) Surprisingly, FSS 3.0 comes close to rivaling FSS 1.0 for the most expensive FSS despite FSS 1.0 being two years older. The lowest-priced figure in this FSS sells for $30, while FSS 1.0 has 3 figures at $30 or lower. This high floor for FSS 3.0 prices, even for unpopular characters, is a clear indication that production was cut on this series. FSS 3.0 also boasts the 3rd most expensive figure in all the FSSes, one that is close enough to $100 that it might get there someday, Bombstrike. It also has a whopping 9 figures breaking $50, 2 more than FSS 1.0, including Frostbite, the most expensive of the 4 mystery figures. And this FSS has the most expensive trooper in all the FSSes, Crimson Guard Immortal, who ranks as the 10th most expensive figure in all the FSSes. FSS 4.0 Total Price: $527 (avg. $40) FSS 4.0 is the next lowest-priced series after FSS 2.0, with only 4 characters breaking $50. But its top 2, Billy and Law & Order, outrank anything from FSS 2.0, no doubt riding on the sheer popularity of the characters. This is a very polarized FSS, with those 2 in the top 10 highest-priced overall, but with 5 characters priced under $30. This FSS also has the notoriety of producing two troopers that are massive aftermarket flops, priced under $25, troopers that were so low on everyone's wish lists that their names aren't worth repeating here. In short, each FSS is at a bare minimum holding its value based on the subscriber pricing. Two of them are just about doubling their original subscriber price or better, while two of them are just staying even with or falling behind the non-subscriber club member pricing. As for FSS 5.0, watch this space. So far, it's performing well, with 4 of the first 6 characters right around $50 or even higher in Salvo's case. However, Viper and Charbroil are barely breaking $30. The average figure price is $46, putting it squarely in the middle of the previous FSSes. With Raptor and Xamot still to come though, that average has a good chance to go up. |

Thanks for the info on this.. I have lots of these still unopened I think I stopped at wave 3 of the figures... All I want at this point is a carded Keel Haul, Hit and Run (this versions seems better than the Attack on Cobra island pack) and Law & Order, Carla Doc Grear, Billy, and Alpine.... I may post a trade thread up soon... I am going to unload a lot over the year.. I cant believe I have been collecting the new joes since 2007... Time sure flies.

I have took the liberty of looking at going through the numbers as of a few days ago. This is the average price of all complete/sold auctions for MOC examples, plus shipping, so this is the average price someone in the US could, on average, have one of these arrive on their doorstep for.
$172 FSS 1.0 Big Boa $148 FSS 4.0 Law & Order $143 FSS 1.0 Cover Girl $105 FSS 3.0 Repeater $91 FSS 4.0 Carla "Doc" Greer $90 FSS 4.0 Billy $89 FSS 3.0 Bombstrike $89 FSS 5.0 Salvo $88 FSS 5.0 Darklon $87 FSS 1.0 Jinx $83 FSS 3.0 Muskrat $83 FSS 3.0 Spearhead $79 FSS 1.0 Iron Klaw $79 FSS 3.0 Big Ben $77 FSS 3.0 Hit & Run $77 FSS 4.0 Bullhorn $76 FSS 1.0 Dice $76 FSS 3.0 Crimson Guard Immortal $72 FSS 2.0 Keel Haul $72 FSS 3.0 Slice $71 FSS 3.0 Frostbite $68 FSS 1.0 Topside $68 FSS 1.0 Sure Fire $68 FSS 4.0 Nunchuk $67 FSS 2.0 Cesspool $65 FSS 4.0 Interrogator $64 FSS 3.0 Psyche Out $63 FSS 4.0 Pathfinder $61 FSS 1.0 Quarrel $61 FSS 4.0 Tiger fForce outback $60 FSS 2.0 Tollbooth $59 FSS 5.0 Sneak Peek $55 FSS 3.0 Vypra $54 FSS 2.0 Wide Scope $54 FSS 2.0 Desert Scorpion $52 FSS 5.0 Ambush $50 FSS 1.0 Nano BAT $50 FSS 2.0 Big Bear $49 FSS 5.0 Scoop $45 FSS 1.0 Blackout $45 FSS 5.0 Cobra Viper $44 FSS 4.0 Night Creeper $44 FSS 5.0 Charbroil $40 FSS 4.0 Inferno BAT $39 FSS 1.0 Barrel Roll $39 FSS 2.0 Night Force Falcon $39 FSS 4.0 Jammer $38 FSS 1.0 Grunt $38 FSS 2.0 Dragonsky $36 FSS 4.0 Tiger Force Sneak Peak $35 FSS 3.0 Night Creeper Leader $33 FSS 2.0 Airtight (Tiger force) $33 FSS 2.0 Skullbuster $33 FSS 3.0 alpine $32 FSS 2.0 Shipwreck (Tiger Force) $29 FSS 2.0 Grand Slam $27 FSS 1.0 TNT $24 FSS 4.0 Barricade $22 FSS 2.0 Bombardier On some of these, the margins between high and low are very tight, especially for a few of the most coveted. I didn't document variance, but Vypra IIRC, seemed to have widest. I didn't compile data for the Loose figures, but I estimate the average drop-off in value is about 20%. Auctions and BIN listings all have a heavy tendency to include Free Shipping. Looking at the other auctions that don't, it costs about $7-$8 for a CONUS/CONUS Delivery. Add to that the fees accrued by Ebay and PayPal after figuring the initial costs of about $32 a figure (IIRC), I estimate the average break/even point for selling any example is about $48/$50 on Ebay. Big gainers are Law & Order, Repeater, and Greer. Big Boa is steadily rising, and as of compiling this list a few days ago there were no examples to be had on the 'bay. The Average data point per figure was something like seven. I didn't count the Best Offer sales.

I didn't see Gaucho in the list so I added him and calculated his price using the same method. There he is down there in the bottom 5 despite being a near flawless recreation of his vintage figure using some of the most modern and highly detailed parts ever created for this scale. I'm not sure if there are any other figures missing from the first 5 FSS waves.
In fact, look at how many other international figures are down there at the bottom.
