I live in Canada where we get really bad tri-lingual generic cards rather than the character-specific cards with clip + save filecards on the back you american folk get, so I buy my Joes from a local hobby shop that imports their action figures from America.
I'm having trouble deciding whether I should clip out the filecards, or keep the cards whole. What do you guys think? Edit: oh, and after you vote, post WHY you want me to clip+save or not. Last edited by EternalMidnight; 06-18-2009 at 01:38 AM.. |

I voted no on the figure file cards for a few reasons.
1) it's a pain to clip all those cards out and get them as good as the ones that come pre-cut in the comic packs and vehicles. 2) it would be a shame(as you say in your poll) to cut up the card art on the front. 3)the whole card is not that big, and it stacks and stores quite nicely in any case I do clip the ones that sometimes are on the vehicle boxes. I really hate that they on that thick cardboard material. |

Yah; lie a box cutter razor flat against the card and cut out the plastic and keep that baby whole. At the very least you can always cut them out if you change your mind later. However if I had a way of cutting out the filecard exactly as the precut ones are done, I would do that without question... but that's near impossible. And yah, the vehicle Filecards are a pain, those pretty much need to be cut out.

If you have the room and ability to keep them organized then by all means keep the whole card. Wish I had done so in '82.

I clip out the file cards. I am not planing on selling my collection so I am not going to worry about after market value. My toy collection is only for myself.

I carefully opened my figs with a blade to not damage any artwork in the front and keep the full cardback.

I cut mine personally. I guess because I know I do not plan on selling them. But I also like how they conveniently fit in a Card File.
But to each his own. Some folks like to cut em, and other to not cut them. Which I can see either way. You just have to do what you feel you like best. |

I keep the full cardbacks. I love the art, and am working on a photo album sort of thing to keep them in.
