Also born in 1983. April 22nd. I remember watching the show when I was around 4 until it went off the air.

I can definately relate to this guy ^^^^^^.

I'll be 40 this year (1968) so I grew up playing with second hand big joes, and started the little guys in 1982 while I was still a teenager. My first was Short Fuze, but I really wanted Flash. I still remember going to Target that day shopping with the folks...

1975, unfortunately in '82' I was knee deep in Star Wars and my parents wouldn't let me collect more than one line at a time. I wound up missing the first couple of years because of that. Eventually though I aquired most of the figures I missed by trading with friends.

Times were tough for kids back in the day. There was no Ebay to go to in a pinch for that elusive figure. You had to hope you'd run into someone with a figure you needed and on top of that hope you had something they wanted more than the figure you were after.

I spent all of my Joe collecting (mid to late eighties) years looking for a Hiss Driver and never found one. I've recently bought a few on Ebay, but it's not quite the same.

I've had a few ex's (girlfriends not wives, dodged that bullet once) over the years who were baffled that a grown ass man drags her to the toy store at least once a week. Her "I just don't understand why you waste 'our' money on this junk, buy me something" Me " Hit the bricks chump" Anyway...

My first figure was a lonely Cobra Officer mixed in with a box of Star Wars for years, man was he outnumbered. My final figure before quiting in the '90's' was Range Viper, and I still somehow have his full card.

I'm 33. I got into GI Joe when I saw the hang gliders commercial on TV. Those kids were flying them around that pristine back yard. From there my parents just contributed to the problem sort of snowballing out of control. I don't think there was a GI Joe vehicle or figure I didn't own from about '83 to midway through '87.
