Cobra Trooper...had a double plus the box set one...
I don't know, I have mix feelings on them now...they look nicer than the older ones but NOT the same quality even the weapons seem cheap. The OG joes weapons did not bend... whatever discuss... |

Asthetics wise, the 25th hands down. For rugged play and durability, definitely the old school.

NO where near as rugged and sturdy.Hell, most 25th figures can't hold there damn weapons.Still I can't control buying them.I must have them all.One of each figure at least.Hopefully down the line the figures will have sturdier hands.

yea, I definitely agree that the new figures are as "solid" as the old ones...they look fantastic in the package though. I think that's why I've kept everything sealed.

They look even more fantastic out of the packaging and in one's own hands, though!!

they aren't as solid, but i'd argue they are sturdier, because they will bend instead of breaking. (i had way too many thumbless joes)
And i've seen a lot of complaints about them no tholding their weapons, but aside from Gung-Ho i've had good luck, especially on the newer ones that have trigger-fingers that fit into the trigger-holes. my major gripe is that so far most can't bend their elbows to 90° (or have double jointed Elbows) That just seems like a moronic decision to me. and i've had a few loosey-goossey ones (firefly), kind of a bummer there's no Easy fix for that as far as i know.

I thought reversing the friction pegs helped that?

these new joes are great pieces of art but are crappy toys.
They cant hold weapons properly, the hands are weapon specific so good luck arming them with anything they didnt come with, I dont remember being afraid to bend a joint on an OG joe. ive had to buy extra roadblock and shipwreck because the wrists snapped right off at the peg. I kinda miss the generic body molds and hands. And yeah broken thumbs and crotches suck. But these new joes have loose joints right out of the box! at least you could fix the old ones with a little super glue and screw tightening. |

Almost all my Joes have had their weapons replaced with one or more Marauder guns. I'm not thrilled with the closed fists/briefcase hand on SW/CC/Destro, but really, I haven't had any problems getting anyone to hold a weapon.
