I was talking to my friend about this the other day. Was wondering what you guys/gals think. We were thinking how cool it would be if Hasbro came out with a 5 pack. Of the top Joes from their branch dressed uniforms. Such as Hawk, Duke, Ace, etc. In the Army, Navy, AirForce, Marines, and Coast Guard. Like Gung-Ho in hhis dressed blues. Now that would be a cool 5 pack. Just a wish list.
What do you guys/gals think? |

I'd buy 'em as long as they didn't use the Crimson Guard body as the Marine Dress Blues. Other than the collar, they look nothing alike.
But I don't see Hasbro making new molds for Dress uniformed Joes. What else could they use them for? Other than putting everyone in a dress uniform. That'd be kinda lame. |

I think this would be a great idea... and an opportunity for new characters.
First, Hawk and Keel Haul are obvious choices to see Flag Officers from the Army and the Navy. Payload is the highest Ranking Air Force Officer (Colonel), and it would be fun to see a new edition of Payload. Cutter is the only Coast Guard personnel on the Joe Team - he's an officer, so we could give him a promotion to Commander, or even Captain. That could be good. The Marines are the only Branch represented on the Joe team that does not have an Officer. This would be a great opportunity for Hasbro to introduce a new Marine character (we don't have very many at all - and we need some more) and to make this new character an officer. So if they would sort of use this set to introduce a new character - I think people would be more interested. It would be nice to get a Marine Corps Officer. And I think it would be cool to have the leadership of the Joe Team in dress uniforms. I would certainly buy it. I think you've got a great idea.

I would just like something different from that same old stuff. No rehash of the same molds. No Snake-Eyes...no Storm Shadow. Just so new figures. And yes it would be cool to have a new character. Just to have something NEW and refreshing. So tired of the same ole' stuff. I mean come on. This line came out in 2007 and now it's seems stale. And I don't care about the movie stuff. And I don't want it to be a exclusive either.
And don't do the same for Cobra. |

Yeah, I hear you. I'm tired of repaints of the same characters as well. I guess I also understand the argument listed above... where is hasbro's incentive to do this? These molds may not get much other use. However, from hence forward, they would have Dress uniforms for every branch of the military that could be used for a LOT of characters... The Navy guys would need different ones for the enlisted sailors, but the rest could all be adapted pretty easily with a little paint.
I wouldn't mind seeing two packs in the future of certain Leadership characters. For example: A Duke Two Pack: Battle Gear & Dress Uniform. Same for Flint. Same for Beach-Head and Stalker. It's just an idea... but having these characters in Dress Uniforms could be cool. Also, it would be great to see Gen Flagg, or Admiral Hollingsworth. Just a theory.

Ye it would be great seeing those 2 figures. Hasbro's incentive to make them is $$$$. But they know people will buy ANYTHING that they slap the name G.I.Joe on. Until WE stop buying the stuff we "don't" want (but people will cause it's Joe stuff). We won't get what we "want"! That right there is Hasbro's incentive...that people will buy anything...
What about "new" Joes? NOT from the movie. Like new waves from the 80's. Like un-produced figures? The black female Joe they never made? Or a cool Sparks? I have a list of figures I'd like seen done. |

I wouldn't mind seeing figures like that.
Collector's would buy them and use them in military funeral dioramas and such. |

That would make some cool photo ops if you had a bunch of Navy and Marine personnel standing on the deck of the FLAGG in their dress uniforms. ;)
