I searched a bunch of SDCC threads cuz I thought someone mentioned
an estimated price... but I can't find the post now. how much (roughly) do you think the SDCC set will go for on Hasbro's site? And what's the smartest time after the SDCC to snag stuff? or am i better off paying $70-$100 for the Destro set?!

HOWEVER the sets will supposedly go on sale Monday sometime, and historically they've sold out VERY quickly once listed. So you'll have to be vigilant to snag them at a fair price. If you miss it there...then yeah, sadly secondary market becomes about the only way to go. I've got at least two Hasbro exclusives I really want this year (The Marvel Universe Invaders set and the Destro set). Ideally I'd like two of each, but I'll feel lucky if I manage to find one of each at a reasonable price. |

SDCC Baroness is $33 at the Hasbro booth and the destro set is $27 so I assume they will be the same price on HTS. We will see.

When do they go up for sale? It's Monday, the 27th, right? Or was it Wednesday the 29th...
Has anybody heard the HTS sale date and if so, could you please post it here? Thanks! |

Alright, I found this..."The set is 1 of 2 exclusives that will be released at the 2009 SDCC and will be online at Hasbro Toy Shop on Monday, July 27th following the convention..."

I've had opportunities to get the set for under $40 (not inc. shipping and handling) on eBay from people who purchased it on the first day. But I resisted because we may see it on HTS and I'm still waiting for someone to give it a review on the site.
It's one thing to see the box and the figure in the box but I'm sure there is a Tanker who bought two not just to sell on eBay but for one to open at least..hehe..

Trying to get these will be very hard. I lucked out last year and picked up a SDCC CC on HTS when they offered a new supply unexpectedly in the end of August. But, the Destro set looks amazing.
These exclusive sets are always priced higher so $29.99 for the Destro set seems about right to me. |
