Has there been any hint of what this could be? I realize at Joecon they just found out they had the license still, but maybe there were some thoughts discussed?
The way I see it, there are only a few "big" characters left from ARAH that would be membership figure worthy. 1987 figures are some of the main ones: Crystal Ball-With Raptor coming, he seems like one that would be a good compliment (and fairly easy, I would think) Golobulus (Is there anyting that would prevent the Club from using the Boss Fight snake body? I mean with permission, of course) But two Cobra La figures in a row? The Club does to some extent seem to want to cross off some of those highly anticipated figures. Big Lob-They did it once, it is time again! Gung Ho Dress Blues- This seems like it has Membership figure all over it. Would open up further uses for parts used, as well. Fast Draw- I don't know how they would do it, but he is a major want for many on here. The rest of 87 (With the exception of Dodger from BF2000) are C and D characters. They seem more suited to con sets or Subs. The Fridge of course would be huge....I wonder if there has been any inquiry into that by the club. Can't imagine the Fridge wouldn't mind the ego boost of a new figure and a few bucks thrown his way (I have no idea how much likeness rights would even cost or if that is feasible). From 88, only Hydro and Toxo Vipers seem possible...though an army builder for a Membership figure? Yikes. I love me some of the drivers from 88...but I don't see that happening. A traditional Budo could be enticing...Lightfoot or Hardball? Don't think they would have much draw. 89's cast of characters seem like sub material or con stuff. EXCEPT, I think Tundra Stalker or V2 ROck and Roll would have a lot of fans interested. I would stick a pin in them being possibilities. Maybe less so for Stalker since the Jammer head was just used.. 1990-Laser Viper? again, Army builder for a membership figure seems cruel! The club is doing a pretty good job of knocking out 1990 characters though. 1991-Can't see any of 91 figures being Membership figure material. 1992-Dojo? He is highly requested. But I don't know if Ninja Force would be good for a Membership figure. 1993- Ninja Force Zartan (maybe I would only be interested) 1994-Nothing I see as a possibility. So they could throw us a curve, of course, like Artic Mindbender. But I think it will be another one to check off our lists. I think Sparks wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. Anyone else have any ideas? |

Backstop is a legitimate "guess".
They have a history of providing missing vehicle drivers such as Cover Girl, Toll Booth, Cross Country and Frostbite. They can use the Static Line build with the tooling readily available. I'd lay money on him being either the next member figure or FSS 5.0 Bonus figure. OP, another figure missing from your list unless I missed it is Hardball. I apologize if I missed him. Other than that you pretty much covered ARAH holes in our collections.

Anyone else consider Hasbro is gonna do cobrala stuff for the anniversary next year? I thought that's why the club wasn't gonna touch it other than pythona.

I'd vote for Big Lob, but I hope they would do some new tooling for the entire figure. They should use Dwight Howard as inspiration for the build. Long and lanky, with a good 5 scale inches higher than Ret. RB. He shouldn't be as bulky as Ret. RB though. Maybe the can steal some parts from the Thor 1/18 scale ice giants.

If you look at who the modern membership figures have been over the years, it seems logical it will be another Cobra character. Dial Tone, Footloose, Iceberg, Cross Country, Arctic Dr Mindbender and Pythona. So it seems if the Club are following with 4 for 4, then its Cobra's turn again. I'm hoping for Crystal Ball. But if they don't go with Cobra, I would like Big Lob. I'm thinking the next con set will be DEF vs Headhunters, so they wont touch them characters.

We need a more accurate ARAH Serpentor which would entice a lot of fans, but for sheer $ purposes, I think Dress Blues Gung Ho with tampo medals. Think of people who would buy one for relatives in the Marine Corp.
If not him then I want Crystal Ball with a dope ass shield. |
