For those who started collecting the 25th Modern Era line (figures, vehicles, everything you could get your hands on), if you have stopped collecting them entirely, what made you stop? Was it costing too much or was there too many repaints, problems, issues? Please provide your input.

The reson I have stopped collecting the 25th Modern line is because ... THERE AIN'T SH!T ON THE SHELVES!!! I MEAN COME ON... I am not the only one who has stopped collecting due to this matter at hand! You can't collect it if it's not there to buy!!! HELLO... MACFLY!!!

I feel like even on the Tank I've seen a lot of guys who were going full boar in the beginning who aren't in it any more. I feel like I've seen a couple scenarios played out:
1) A lot of it boils down to finances. Some collectors have felt the crunch of today's economic climate and had to stop and sell some of their goods. 2) I honestly think for some it probably had more to do with being in a tight financial spot to begin with and making some poor choices in spending. 3) Some folks just like the "high" of buying things and collecting for a short period of time. Ultimately, the high is worth buying and turning around and selling a couple months down the road. 4) The reality of not making a profit. I'm still amazed at the number of folks that collect the 25th in hopes to make $$$ down the road with them. I just don't think they will have the same value as the ARAH series...but stranger things have happened. 5) Getting nostalgic and then realizing how much $$$ you've spent and that you don't have room for any of it! 6) Issues with quality of product, frustrations with availability, ever increasing prices...I have no doubt that they play a factor for some. 7) ROC 8) Just didn't want to do it any more. These seem to be some legitimate arguments for some... Last edited by Outbackk; 05-11-2009 at 04:48 PM.. |

honestly the over inflated unneccesary increases and the fact that the whole shift to the "Live action Sigma 6" movie style instead of Real G.I. JOE is mainly why.

I haven't stopped collecting, but with ROC I don't feel compelled to get everything. My completionist attitude has changed dramatically and my wallet is thankful.

I agree entirely, This is exactly why my collecting has come to an end. |
