Wild crazy idea - how about a line of smaller scale vehicles - say something like a HISS was a couple of inches long, etc. They could even come up with miniature wargaming rules.
This would allow them to release much larger vehicles at a reasonable price and something like a Terrordrome or FLAGG or whatever wouldn't take up as much space in your basement. I know there were a few mini vehicles released a long time ago, perhaps it is time to bring that line back. What do you think? |

No thank you. 4" line for me, I do not have the time, space or money to keep up with whatever wacky scale Hasbro want's to try to use to keep the line alive.
Instead of screwing around with trying to sell us the same old figures in different scales they need to look to their production and distribution of what they already have, make sure they are making enough of what people want and that it is getting to the paying customers. A new scale pretty much means the same problems we saw with the previous incarnations without addressing that issue.

Although I am also fairly deeply entrenched in just keeping to a 3 3/4 or 4" scale...
I HAVE thought for a LONG time that a "titanium" GI Joe series would be awesome. Imagine being able to army build Rattlers and Skystrikers without having to fill up a ceiling (or garage) to store them! Wave 1) Skystriker Rattler MOBAT HISS Whale Hydrofoil Then yes - if they did these and did them well - I'd collect the snot out of them! |

I would pass. Unless it fits 3.75 it wouldnt work with my display. I am though all for more alpha and bravo vehicles. The recent night landing craft, fangboat, and vamp where must haves for me. A asp and wolverine would look great next to them.

Question - what does alpha and bravo vehicles refer to?
Speaking for myself, I haven't collected G.I.Joe in a long time, but a micro scale line would actually appeal to me. I could put on a diorama with multiple vehicles on a simple bookshelf. |

i loved the star wars micro machines action fleet line. Something like that would be very cool, but the figures would have to be top notch. They usually just turn out looking sloppy. Like those human alliance transformers, the bots were mostly awesome, the humans… not so much.

You beat me to the tread with the smaller class of vehicle. With the guardians of the galaxy line out last year, and the new avengers age of ultron coming out this spring, Hasbro may ought to consider going that route with gijoe. Face it, they aren't spending time & money on gijoe like they use to.

Alpha, bravo, delta, and echo are size categories. For example the night landing craft would a alpha vehicle, a awe striker would be a bravo vehicle, a hiss tank would a delta vehicle, and a sky striker or eaglehawk would be echo.

Retreading what I've said in the past: IF Hasbro wants to keep the vehicle and playset play pattern as a key part of the brand, they are going to HAVE to look at some sort of smaller scale offering (among other reasons). As is, short Star Wars, TMNT and GI Joe, no other product brand really has an emphasis on vehicles and playsets, and even among the mentioned brands, the scope isn't anywhere near what it used to be. Costs are a big factor, and people are seemingly less willing to drop $25-35 on a large vehicle unless their kid REALLY wants it.

Well you could make the point that this is exactly what the Kreo line offers. I know it isn't for everyone, but even at Kreo scale, a large vehicle is going to be a big expensive toy.
What if 100 bucks bought you enough stuff to set up a whole battle or do some serious tabletop wargaming? For something of this scale I wouldn't focus too much on the characters - they would be too small for any real articulation. |
