I've decided to start collecting G.I.Joe action figures but am not sure where to start because there are now so many...
Should I start from the beginning ? 1982 to 1994 ? or should I perhaps not worry about the older ones and focus on the G.I.Joe Resolute or the 25th Anniversary ? |

Start at the place that you feel best about. It is your collection so buy all those figures that have excited you over the years. The only person who knows where to start is you.
My jumping off point was the 25th line.

Yea true, when I pulled out my old action figures and vehicles it did spark my interest up again... although the Resolute and 25th series figures are also pretty cool also.

Yea think i'll just start from the start, I have figures from the early 90's already so I guess I will kick off from there.
Been looking all over eBay Australia and America, it's unreal how much stuff is on there, hardly anything in Australia, absolute thousands in America. |

Once you buy one you'll want them all. No matter what you say you're gonna stick to it never works out that way. My Joe collection stretches over 4 decades. In the beginning I was strictly vintage (82-86) but once that Joe bug bites you it's all over

Depends on whether you're an opener or MOC collecter. If an opener like myself, then the TRU troop builder and SRO packs are a good place. The per-figure price is low and you can get a better feel over how much you like the figs. Ebay also occasionally has a good deal on loose lots.
If MOC, then you've a daunting task this late in the game. Best thing is just start with your favs and take your time. Maybe put a limit on how many per month you allow yourself to get. I blew through a couple checks before I learned to pace myself. |

Do what I did, start with the 25th and then venture out into the vintage. I actually picked a time frame to collect 88-90 and once that is done I will move into 85-87 and go from there. There is so much to choose from so pick and choose or you will get overwhelmed.
I started with 1 vintage fig and now I have over 50. I had no vehicles and now I have a good amount. |

I just started collecting again myself and about a month end it can get cumbersome if you don't think about what you plan on collecting. I chose to pick a few of my favorites and start just collecting them as well as the Resolute, and the vehicles from the 25th that I like. I think for me it will work out. But you have to do what will keep your intrest. But if you decide what you want to do before you jump in it will help out tremendously. As I have found out the tankers here on this site are great to ask questions of and help you out if your searching for somthing. Welcome aboard to the collecting scene once again.
