This is a list of the minor modifications that I've made to my Modern Era Joes:
Five-pack Scarlett --- Sliced apart the first two fingers on her right hand apart so that she can better hold her crossbow. The first single-carded Snake Eyes --- Sliced apart the first two fingers on his right hand so that he can better hold his uzi. Clutch --- Removed his Duke forearms, glued on Tiger Force Duke forearms. Mutt --- Carved off his elbow spikes to round the back of his elbows. Sgt. Airborne --- Enlarged the back hole in his vest and the hole in his back to get his backpack to fit properly. Flash --- Glued his rifle's hose into his backpack. Rock 'n Roll --- Removed his Duke forearms, glued on Tiger Force Duke forearms. Steeler --- Removed his Duke forearms, glued on Tiger Force Duke forearms. Tunnel Rat --- Sliced off a bit of the top of the back of his neckerchief so that it fits better; set his head higher on his neck peg. Five-pack Shipwreck --- Glued Polly onto his pack strap; glued his pack strap to his back to that it doesn't fall off; replaced his spear gun with the single-card Shipwreck's shotgun. Hasbro has done, IMHO, a great job overall on this line's paint apps. Only the single-card Shipwreck that I bought a bad paint job, and since I traded it when I got the five-pack Shipwreck, it really doesn't bother me any more. :b So - what minor tweaks/modifications have you made (if any) to your 25th Anniversary/Modern Era figures? XD |

I've done the slit in between the index and middle finger on hands designed to have trigger fingers. That helps a lot. I might dremel some crotches of the diaper dudes to fix them. Dunno yet.
I'm also replacing SRO Cutter's head with a custom cast one that has a separate ballcap (from Alyosha). Not sure if that counts as minor. Oh, and I had an Iron Grenadier from the Destro 2pk that the feet were tweaked outward. By swapping the lower legs I was able to get them to set on the floor properly in a wider stance. Last, Beach Head (wave 1) was given Marauder weapons (.45 and the M-16 with the M203 grenade launcher, starlight scope and silencer) heheheheheheheh

WOW! can believe how many Duke arm replaced by Tiger Force Flint arm that you did.
Here is the future list that you might need to do: 1. Recondo - Remove his Duke forearms, glued on Tiger Force Duke forearms. 2. Footloose - Remove his Duke forearms, glued on Tiger Force Duke forearms. (never see the product, but from what Hasclown has produced so far, this is not an exception.) |

I've done the finger slit on a lot of my figures. I've also trimed around the elbows on a most of them. Several of my Joes have scratchbuilt holsters, for Marauder's M1911 .45 pistols. Resolute duke got his holster replaced with one that will actually hold his gun. And, Wild bill got new scale sized holsters to hold Marauder's Colt Peacemakers, handle forward for Bill Hickok style twisting draw.
I modded V2 style Snake Eyes's webgear. I seperated the bandolier from the belt. Then, I cut the bandolier down and glued it back together to fit around his torso a little better. I put some bare metal foil on his visor, and carefully panel lined it. Made a new sword for him, too. Commando Snake Eyes got his grenade replaced with one from Marauder. I preffer the modern, better scaled frag grenades Marauder makes, to those outdated and often tiny ones that Hasbro puts on the webgear. I replaced Spirit's belt flaps with new ones from vinyl tape. They actually bend to let his legs move. Also cut the stock off his rifle, and made a new one with a pistol style grip. Not only can he now aim the rifle, it looks that much more like the original 80s one. I replaced V2 style Hawk's head with the comic pack one, and repainted the hair. And, I weathered his jacket. I put chrome Monokote on my BAT's and Vipers' face plates. I sculpted hair on my Scarfaced Cobra officer, and painted his webgear and knee pads in desert tan. He looks better, and his helmet will actually stay on his head, now. I carved a little material out of Scrap Iron's leg clip, so it would hold his gun. My single card Torch has the head, vest and accessories from the comic pack, and I replaced the too rigid hose for his cutting torch with black elastic cord. I used the same cord to replace the breathing hoses on my Eel, who also got his knife sheath's replaced with scratchbuilt ones. I modified Nemesis Enforcer's wing backpack to hold an adapter, that his tentacle pack can attach to, just below the wing pack. Most of my Joes have some degree of modification, these are just the simpler ones I've done. |
