The topic of Sgt. Savage and the Screaming Eagles as a pretty cool group of characters (despite the obvious problems with the original figure design) is something I've noticed come up intermittently in the last couple years.
Given that the next year will be the 20th anniversery of this group, I was wondering what the interest would be like on the tank for a Convention set based on these guys? Something along the lines of a 15 figure set with: Savage with D-day, Dynamite, Grill, Headbanger, Mouse and Tank vs. General Blitz, 3 IRON Trooper, 3 Anvils, and 1 new character What do people think? What would the exclusives be? |

That would be so sweet!! I've been thinking for a long time that GI Joe should consider a reboot in WW II. I know it sounds crazy...but when I was a kid I loved reading books and watching movies about WW II. My kids are the same now, we watched Monuments Men last night and loved it. With Captain America a couple of years ago it was the same, we enjoyed it so much! The retro stuff in so in!

If done well (new head sculpts at a minimum) this could be a killer Con set!

I would definitely be in for a set like this, but I'd first have to see the designs.

Would love it, but with no Joe at retail I think the convention set needs to remain focused on some aspect of the 3.75 mythology. That being said a Sgt Savage vs General Blitz two pack would be cool as a attendee item.

I think it could be done without every figure having a new head sculpt. Sgt. Savage, Dynamite, and Head Banger would definitely need new heads. But Grill, Tank, and D-Day had pretty basic-looking faces. And the Serpentor/Speed Metal head is perfect for Mouse.

They could re-use the Indy truck mold...again. This time though it would make sense. Stick a .50 on top of the cab.
