Anyone else thinking of this? If hasbro redesigns today's figures then what? currently the market is good on modern joes, but in the next few years if the line gets a redisign then what? last few days Ive been thinking...there's a lot of things I enjoy, lots of hobbies, and other interests. Maybe it's time to get while the gettings good? I wasn't around in the new sculpt era,but I'm sure it wasn't all that great for the individuals that army built,or had amassed a stout collection only to see newer, nicer versions hit the shelves. Don't get me wrong,I enjoy my collection,BUT I think it's run it's coarse with me,and its time to move on. anyone else feel this way?
Another flip side of that coin would be a redisign that removes articulation, simular to a lot of the marvel figures...in turn making the current joes a premium figure in comparison... Last edited by Contraband; 05-27-2014 at 09:47 AM.. |

This is my last generation most likely. I am collecting until it ends (Probably after the next film).
Whatever does come next, it's not going to as good. I think we might see the 6 inches, but with 5 POA, unlike Star War's 6 inches. In the end, I think this is the last generation for many fans, like myself. I am focusing on one generation only, and I've chosen this one. Last edited by CrackerJacks; 05-27-2014 at 10:44 AM.. |

Ill collect Joes as long as I'm having fun doing it. If it's no longer fun or I have too many to even enjoy them, then ill stop. AND WE MUST REALIZE , HEART BREAKING AS IT IS, G.I. JOE IS SLOWLY FADING AWAY.

There's always going to be a monetary part to any collection no matter what it is...most collectors like to have a collection that is better then the next guy's. usually that entails some rare item(s) that the other guy doesn't have, and rare usually means expensive..but think of the guys that where army building 25th cobra troopers, then the 30th version came out! Instantly making the 25th figures look 20years old,and obsolete. lets say you want to replace your 25th troopers with 30th? you can barely give the 25th away! those cost money at one time! not everyone got them for $4 either!! |

If future profit is what someone has in mind I'd suggest something a little more apt at holding its value than children's toys, especially children's toys produced in the last twenty years. |

I'm pretty sure that the modern era will stand as the high point, quality-wise. Whatever comes next will most likely be inferior.

I collect to make me happy, not to compete with another because no matter how many Vipers you have, someone else will have that many more. So do what makes you happy. I'm happy with my "obsolete 25th Vipers" as you put it.

I'll keep buying in the ME scale, but that's it.
