What has been your favorite Wave so far?
Wave 1: SE w/ Timber, Hooded CC, Officer, Flint and SS Wave 2: Serpentor, LJ, Beachhead, Buzzer and Trooper Wave 3: Stalker, Zartan, Firefly, Red Ninja, Shippy Wave 4: Destro, CC, Duke, Scarlett, Roadblock, Air Trooper, Gung Ho and SS Wave 5: Flash, Snow Job, CG, Destro and SE Lets not count the up coming waves or comic packs please. I think each wave has there highlights. For me I would have to go with the 3rd wave. Stalker is my favorite design so far in the line. I also love Zartan and Firefly. Shipwreck and the red ninja are okay imo. What do you guys think? Last edited by Monkeywrench; 01-15-2008 at 01:44 PM.. |

Here is why i voted for wave 5
1.To me there is no weak figure in the bunch 2. mabee its my imagination, but it seems like with this wave the figures are thicker and more sturdy 3.Crimson guard is my favorite cobra figure of all time, so a new one is tops with me 4. they seem to have resolved the crotch issue with this wave without it being to much of a drastic change 5.each of the other waves have some issues as far as poor leg articulation, inabillity to hold weapons, elbow joint issues- i have not seen any of these issues with wave 5 especially of importance to me the fists holding the weapons properly |

Overall, I have to give it to Wave 1 because that was the only wave with a full five desireable figures. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are both excellent figures (despite Hasbro saturating the market with these guys - but they all sold!) and Hooded CC was a pretty nice figure, very true to the original, but should not have been released with almost every wave since (exaggeration). Cobra Officer is a great figure, darn near perfect with a Marauder AK-47 and of course, Flint, who is still pretty popular, despite a not so exciting sculpt. He's better w/ a Marauder M-4 w/ shotgun too!
Honorable mention to Wave 2 w/ Beachhead (still my favorite 25th figure overall), Buzzer, Trooper and LJ, but fell short because Serpentor is just lame. Wave 3: the only figure from that wave that I had to have was Firefly, because he is just awesome! I ended up buying Zartan, even though I don't like this version that much (but what are the Dreadnoks w/o him?). I wish they would have made him a lot more like the customs I've seen here. I got the RN on a trade and still don't care to buy Stalker or Shippy. Wave 4 I really don't consider a wave as such, since it is really just a repeat from the box sets. There are some good figs in the batch (and some bad too). Good ones: Destro, Scarlett, Air Trooper, SS, CC, Roadblock and Gung-Ho (though some of these could still use improvement). Bad: Duke. I had already gotten most of mine in the 5 packs, and had I known the prices were about to fall, I would have gotten them all that way. Wave 5 (Wave 1 08) was great, but too small (and yes, I do realize they warned us). Snow Job is pretty sweet, but has poseablility issues. IG Destro is also very cool and true to the original. Flash is true to original, but is generally just okay. And the Crimson Guard is awesome! I love that he is tall and imposing, kid of like my boy, Beachhead. And the CG is very true to the original. Had this wave been complete, it would have certainly given Wave 1 a run for its money for me. Oh, sorry, I didn't mention it. I don't really consider Black SE as part of Wave 5, since he's just a color change that should have been part of Wave 4. How's that for a long answer to a fairly short question? Wave 5 was the easiest to find... I found them all at once at Wal-Mart. I thought they were going to be like wave 3... so the ease of purchase made them the most satisfying.

I voted for Wave 5 for the following reasons:
The all-black Snake Eyes is a dramatic improvement over the 5-pack version. I didn't think it would be, but even my wife looked at the two together and said, "wow." Flash is a really solid remake/update, the CG is alright (I never had one as a kid) the detailing on Snowjob (removable hood, goggles, holster, etc) is awesome. But ultimately, this IG Destro is probably my single favorite 1:18th scale action figure ever.

wow. I'm impressed with the overall support for wave 5. It looks as though that is the early favorite to win.

Despite some small annoyances, Wave 3 takes the cake for me. Zartan was a great update, Firefly is probably my favorite character, and just being able to recreate Snake Eyes' takedown of a cadre of Red Ninjas is just too awesome.

Since I have yet to see wave 4 or 5 on the shelves I voted wave 1.
