Or maybe it's "Tempus fuckit!" We've now reached the point where there are ebay auctions for JvsC, Spy Troops, VvsV and even 25th/ROC/POC stuff that were obviously played with by kids.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/202576397389 I've been seeing this more and more. Scuffs, scratches, worn paint...just like Joes from the ass-end of our childhoods. Think about that for moment. It doesn't seem that long ago, but it was long enough for kids to play with these toys, outgrow 'em and get rid of them. That both makes me smile and a bit sad at the same time. Either way, I feel old. Last edited by SmokeBellew; 02-01-2019 at 08:17 PM.. |

You forgot to mention the worst part. Some of these used toys were stuck up someones butt at some point. Especially the vintage ones.

I don't think you were playing with them the right way. ;)

Um, yeah...that's a weird thing to say. I highly recommend no one buy any of this guy's used toys.

It was in reference to an old thread discussion about washing your used figures bought from ebay a while back. Someone here was asking how to thoroughly wash used figures because he feared they were stuck up peoples butts at some point.

It's also a bit from one of Eddie Murphy's old standup sets. It was either Raw or Delirious, I forget which.

I think it's weird that someone started a thread scoffing at the idea that people are selling used toys that kids actually played with and have wear and tear.
But I hear ya, geez the nerve of these people. Is this what has become of Gi Joe???

Scoffing? Nah, man, it's literally about how time has flown (tempus fugit is Latin for "time flies") and those toys from the 2000's are now old enough to have been played with, grown out of and left behind. I think it's cool there are figures from the "collector era" that were actually played with. I state that in the original post...
