Got my arctic Dr Mindbender from the Black Friday sale. He has a big drop of black paint from the mustache on his lower lip. At first I thought it might be a hole to stick a cigar in or something, but no, just a paint defect. Wonder if I can take a touch of thinner to it to wipe it clean or if that would also damage the fleshtone. Is the fleshtone the actual plastic or is that paint also?
update: I was able to scrape it off without damage! phew. Last edited by edgecrusher; 12-03-2017 at 12:03 AM.. |

Okay guys...I'm not usually privy to these discussions since I'm not a subscriber, but I do keep up with pics since I'd love to collect the club figures. I guess they're just a little out of my price range, although I do have the Night Force Falcon, which leads me to my question: Where does one get dullcote? My Falcon has some paint that's bled down from his sleeve onto the bare-skin part of his arm, and I always wondered if there might be a way to get it off without damaging the plastic.

"Dullcote" is a Testors brand name, for their dull-finish lacquer varnish. |

If you have a local Michaels store be sure to clip coupons, before going as they carry Dullcote. Also if you want to remove some paint bleed spray a bit of dullcote into the cap and use a sharpened toothpick to gently clean it away. I have always had success with that. By the way for other users of dullcote I believe Rustoleum must bought Testors as their label now appears on newer cans of dullcote, and in my opinion the product works better than it has in years.

Thankfully my Club and Joecon figures have not been problems, quality wise. Aside from the prices and aftermarket price points especially, I don't have any real problem with the Club. I do appreciate that Cons and the Club are basically now the only way we get new figures, will suck not having any new GI JOE figures as I enjoy collecting them and I don't care for the old vintage figures or anything else aside the 25th/50th style modern.

I tried to pre-order but my membership expired AND there's no option to add the pro rated membership. Sigh.

One of my Clay Moores came with no Cobra logo on the helmet, so I emailed and the club sent me a replacement helmet. Arrived within 5 days of me asking for a replacement. No charge. Thank you club, well done.
