TEAM HASBRO BANNED? I guess it wasn't them? I had hope, but didn't think so.

A live action summer blockbuster-type movie will make Hasbro alot more then Resolute would. Even if it bombs with the adults, I doubt it'll bomb with the kids.
And again, the aim of the movie is to create a new generation of "us", fans of the Joe product that are around 25 years later. The movie is not being made for us, it's being made to create a new Joe fanbase and make Joe open to as many people as possible. Besides, if they're trying to get new fans, all they need to do is reprint the old Larry Hama comics and re-air the 80's cartoon and the kids will come flocking in LEGIONS! Because after all, if it was good enough for me in the early 1980's, then CLEARLY kids of today will totally eat it up without any alterations or modernization whatsoever, right? |

Troynos and Jmacq1, you guys just don't get. The OP REALLY, REALLY wants more Resolute figures. And I'm sorry, but that trumps your reasonable, rational, and lucid arguments. Better luck next time fellas.

It's the same reason that movie figures come out to lead into the release of the movie. I don't think it takes much marketing genius to put some kind of strategy in place before saying, hell let's just show the cartoon now, which is how this kind of comes off.

Hasbro is in it for money. They do what it takes to get money. Resolute is intended for OLDER! fans, not kids. Kids are what the majority of the line sells to. So, thats where they aim. Seriously, I don't know what some of the posts on this thread are getting at.

Jmacq1 and Troynos thank you. You guys are really speaking the truth today. I just wish certain fans would put their hard-headedness aside and actually see the logic in everything you guys are saying.

I think if they did a bigger marketing campaign for the TV airing, the tons of 5 packs on the shelves might start to move faster. I'm not a hardcore fan like most here, but I was interested in watching it. I only found out about it from you guys here on hisstank. I think if they did the little 5 minute shorts on TV as well as online with supporting advertising there would be more interest from the casual observer. I think it's good enough to hook any potential fans that were never really into GI-Joe before.

But nobody is buying those Resolute 5 packs where I am at... nobody. And at the same time the new Joe and Cobra 5 packs are all sold out pretty much everywhere I go, so who knows. |

kids buy toys that their mommy lets them, but us grown men buy whatever we want, as sad as it is, i'm sure us 'grown' men has already spent thousands on the 25th line, so if hasbro wants to make real money, they should cater to us 'grown' men with disposable income, we are the ones who troop build and buy the entire line. they missed a great opportunity with the resolute, the movie line will be like the indy toys of last year, gathering dust till christmas then off to ross or big lots. my friends and i dont want the movie line after seeing the pics. we would rather have the resolute line....

The only way they'd make money on the Resolute line is if they reused molds. There really is no guarantee on how far or long Resolute is going to last, I think they'd be putting many (not all) of their eggs in one basket. I doubt the Joe lines are profitable enough to support different molds for Classic, Movie, and Resolute lines.
People are going to complain that there aren't Resolute figures, but if they pumped them out, they'd complain that they're not new molds. Give it some time before Hasbro really puts their time and money behind this. I know I'm not too keen on the toys so far, but I love the cartoon. I will only buy select figures. |
