Earlier today I was flipping thru the channels looking for something to watch and a skylanders and disney infinite commercial played one during one break and the other in another. Remember when star wars episode 1 came out and we got the commchip star wars toys, this got me thinking, Hasbro could easily build up a console game with G.I.JOE figures, in the same way kids collect the different skylanders figures to incorporate into a game Hasbro could do this with G.I.JOE....Making both a collectable figure and electronic powerplay!....Who else thinks this would be a great way to re-energize the line?

could work but the problem is articulation. I have tons of skylanders and those are just statues due to the fact they hold the little components in them.

A good cartoon tv show and a wicked video game loosely based on the original arah.

I can't see Hasbro being able to do everything involved well at all. I mean, the Disney one is already pretty darn shabby.
To expand; Wave diversity? Hasbro isn't good at that. Skylanders is far more 80s in this respect. Waves being released well? Oh Lord no. Good game? EA has it, and they didn't do a good job last time. Last edited by Shinobi Sentai; 10-19-2013 at 11:21 PM.. |

Too late to the game, that's my thought.

I believe that the brand and GI Joe as a whole deserve another shot! Hasbro alone has been able to bring us plenty of content for over 2 decades!! Maybe it is time to try something different in order to keep our beloved GI Joe for another decade or so... There's plenty of us who are dedicated enough to try just about anything... Am I Right??

But with the same game action as Battlefield 4! As for the cartoon; something like Gi Joe Resolute but longer & is ongoing like the Sunbow cartoons! For the toy lines; with every Gi Joe toy line have a celebrity figure tie in mixed in there like: Commando "Arnold Swartzeneggar (...I don't know how to spell his name), Rambo (..Sylvestor Stalone), Jet Li (..the One), the A-Team, the Gladiator (..Russell Crowe; I'm still waiting on a figure of some sort for this guy), Bruce Lee, Gi Jane (..Demi Moore) and on and on! Advertise your toy products on Youtube and facebook; this should be relatively cheaper than T.V commercials! I've said it before; Hasbro in my opinion needs to contract BBI Elite Force to make some of their vehicles; could you imagine the Cobra Rattler made by them with a little bit bigger dimensions? With these modern Sunbow figure incarnations; why not make new figures like (..Colonel Sharp, Hector Ramirez and etc.)? -Aren't they part of the Gi Joe universe? Yes, we also need modern representations of classic figures; people as a whole just don't want to see Arah Sunbow character figures! -Gi Joe Retaliation was a good mixture of that even though it was a movie toy line! I'm pretty sure I've missed some other opportunities; feel free to chime in!

One way to revive the line is to actually get them back in stores again! lol. Joes aren't in the adds on Sunday, they have no commercials on television.I had no idea joes weren't made with rubber bands anymore till the day I signed up here after buying my son a three pack at target.
Wave 3.5&4 come out who would know? TRU doesn't advertise new joes in stock! the only way I found out was here. seeing that I mostly see guys my age on here, how do the kiddies find out? They should have commercials on during robot chicken for the older crowd, and during jake&the neverland pirates for the kiddos. Basically hasbro has to try! I see very little if any attempt to market these figures, they've pretty much been selling themselves for a while from what I see... There should've been adds on the back of the bluray!!! Or at the beginning of the movie!! they should've had a few pegs next to the movie at best buy!! ultimate Roadblock or Duke should've came with the bluray!!! Put a quality ME figure in the hands of the people that are watching the movie now...show the fans of the toys as a kid how they've improved! you give the average person one,and a lot will buy more once tgey see for themselves how cool they are now. It needs revived?
In 2011, we had 42 POC & 30 ANN... a ton of figures, 2x 7-pack sets, convention stuff, club exclusives, about 8 vehicles (most were store exclusives and HTF) In 2012, we got 3-packs, two Amazon 4-packs, 10 figures with 2 variations, several vehicles or different sizes (yes 5x POA on all), Ross and Dollar General exclusives. Plus the convention set stuff and a club exclusive. In 2013, so far, 10-20 figures (lost count), 2x 3-packs, a convention set plus others, FSS 1.0, and the EagleHawk plus a few more vehicles. I dont think the line is dying, I think we lack patience. In 1982, we got 11 figures, 4 vehicles with drivers, a few small vehicles and a mail-in. In 1985, we got 20 figures, a few mail-in options, 6 vehicles with drivers (one being the FLAGG) and a few small vehicles and sets. 1986 was about the same. I think we are doing okay. |
