At the NYCC toyfair 2013 they displayed the upcoming MoTU castle grayskull. It stroked a cord of envy with me for an equivalent playset for Joes, specifically the iconic 1983 HQ CC.
The castle grayskull preorder comes with a price tag of $250. Since joes are on a smaller scale, maybe they could swing it in the $200-$250 range. So would there be enough interest in doing a remake? would you buy one? YOJOE.COM | Headquarters Command Center |

I'm afraid it would be a losing proposition on Hasbro's part, unless it was an on-line exclusive. If Eaglehawks are still sitting around @ $40...
I think the same thing about castle Grayskull. Is it an exclusive? No way that thing sells in stores in mass quantities. Have you noticed the TMNT playset sitting around already?

Grey Skull was a preorder kind of like the FSS. It will not be sold in stores unless it is a specialty shop that bought them durring the preorder for re sale. The only way this would happen for us is if Fun Pub put it together , but it likely would be too expensive for most people because of the markup Fun Pub would have to put on it to make it worth their while.

And yes it would be a limited run, with a higher price tag similiar to the castle grayscale remake. The original 1983 HQ CC i believe was $25, and tomahawk was $13. If the eaglehawk is any indication, a mass produced HQ i guess would be around $100. I think the only reason a limited castle grayskull remake was done, is because mattycollector was able to get enough pre-orders at $250. Castle Grayskull |

Hasbro probably feels like the roc pit was close enough and it was a flop (apparently). With sky strikers and eaglehawks sitting at retail, not sure if a large retro set is the direction Hasbro is leaning. And with the lack of news at NYCC or via any other outlets about GI Joe, I am doubtful any kind of large investment will be made in this line.
Honestly,I could see a Boulder Hill M.a.s.k set being made first as part of some anniversary line.

I'm just using my actual 83 HQ right now. Some of the figures are a bit big for it, but it does the trick for now.

That TMNT giant sewer playset is at Walmart right now for $79.97, so I feel like a mass market release could be done for $100 or less. However, there is no way we'd see a mass market release. I wouldn't pay $200 for a limited-pre-sale deal for an old-school type command center. Now if they ever made some kind of modular PIT, I'd be all-in.

I've never felt much in the way of affection for the '83 HQ.
I got into Joe in '86, so it was before my time; my dreams were haunted by the Mobile Command Center and the Defiant and the Terror Drome. If the original HQ hit retail in some form today (which it won't), I can't see paying more than $40 or $50 for it; as a kid I'd have enjoyed it because it appears to be a great playset, but it doesn't have much to offer as a setting for photos. I'm really bummed that SK Omega appears to have fallen apart, 'cause the HQ from that series is the kind of thing I want; interior walls are all I need, but few big playsets offer suitable walls. |

Willing to spend not more than $200 for it but it should come with 2 frickin' action figures. General Flagg and Sparks perhaps?
Why the hell not?! Here's my $200 Hasbro, take it, take it!
