I've searched the forums but cannot find the post. There is a manufacturer of toys that are Joe size and pretty close to BBI quality. They only have a few, and they're broken up by branch: Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy. I'm particularly trying to find it because their recon buggy was pretty cool (and more realistic than the PTE one, though very similar). Anyone heard of this toy/model line?

I've seen them in Target a lot.

I heard these are actually a bit larger than Joes, and not really compatible.
You might try tracking down one of Bbi's DPVs. |

These are from the "Freedom Ops Network" line of.. things.
They are really more like a 1:16 scale line, slightly smaller I think. Maybe 1:17. The figures are HORRENDOUS! They are the ugliest set of figures this side of anything. The accessories are not even very useful for Joe customs. AND they are priced @ $9.99 at Target! I recommend staying away from these figures at ALL COSTS! The Desert Patrol Vehicle and the Prowler Special Forces Vehicle are not that bad, They are a little larger than 1:18, but work well enough for most people. I actually really like the Prowler, as it looks ridiculous in person. Hope this helps. Go BBI or 21st Century instead!

1:16 would make them LARGER than Joes. ;-)

That was it, thanks. And no wonder I didn't bookmark it before; the figures are pretty bad. The Army RTV reminds me of a Swampmasher or something and now that I review it again, the Desert Patrol vehicle doesn't look quite as good as PTE dune buggy (though virtually identical).

Those are actually repainted Lanard Corps figures under a new name(Freedom Ops Network). They are garbage! The vehicles look decent but stay away from the figures.
