I find myself far less enthusiastic over the revamped Joe line than I was just a few months ago. There are several reasons for this; -I agree with you 100% so far 1. With the lack of anything really "new" over the past couple of months aside from some repackaged repaints, the line just started to flounder for me. The defining moment was the Greatest Battles DVD set. Up until then, I had made an effort to collect nearly everything (still haven't got a clear Wraith), but with this, I said, "Pass." Even with the Target Exclusive Python Patrol Conquest and Tiger Force Rattler - I never much cared for those sub-groups, and while I still haven't decided against them, I for sure don't need another Wild Bill... -I understand where you're coming from, thats when it started going bad for me, I myself love the Pyhton Patrol fig's so far but hate Tiger Force Wild Bill(he could at least had some damn tiger strips) but most likely Im gonna still get him soon or later, right now Im still on the hunt for the Best of the 80's set and a Ghost Hawk. What bugs me is that I see all these Greatest Battles set and I have not found one Best of 80's set yet; and why do they think Im pay for this box set when not one of these figures look like the ones on the box art. 2. The Rise of Cobra figures look awful. They come with proportionately huge rocket-firing gimmicks, and the packaging is very dated - and not in the cool retro way that the 25th and Modern Era figures were. I might pick up a few in the clearance bin, but otherwise, pass... -I got no beef with the movie fig's Im just not excited about any of it, I just dont understand the logic behind stoping what got you here in the frist place. Its like your on a team with the best record and your defense is what got you to the playoffs, then you get in the playoffs and decide to scrap your defence for offince. Just look at Star Wars, they got their Clone Wars and Classic characters on the pegs right now and I just dont see anything wrong with that, if you want the new characters you can get that or if you want the classic characters they both are right there for you too decide. 3. I'm poor. I could justify spending the money on something I truly enjoyed collecting, but aside from the upcoming Cobra Island 7-Packs and the other vehicles supposedly coming out, there's nothing I'm willing to sacrifice in place of my little plastic childhood friends. Plus, the price of individual figures is still a bit much. Again, I could justify it when it was a figure I really wanted (though I cursed under my breath), but now... -Im not poor or rich, Im doing alright but Im not gonna pay a penny for anything that just dont interest me in the least. I looking forward to the 7-packs and Im pay what it is I gotta pay to get them. 4. I really don't care about the movie at all. It's just another capitalist franchise crossover assembled by a bunch of unimaginative soulless "artists" who couldn't direct a compelling episode of The Golden Girls (just look what those talented women did with some of the awful stories they had to work with). Will I go see it? Meh. I might get it on Netflix. Hopefully the line endures this year. Resolute is the only real glimmer of hope that it will. I just don't know when these toy manufacturers will get the hint - Speed Racer, Cars, Indiana Jones, The Hulk, etc. - all these lines are still clogging up store shelves and marked down, and they still don't move. Maybe they've made enough of a profit to legitmize this continuing trend, but I think they're just trying to recapture what Kenner had with the original Star Wars line. And that will never happen. Joes did well enough on their own for over a decade. The line tanked when they came out with one too many asinine day-glo gimmicky saturday morning bubblegum revamping of the line. Keep it simple, kids. Or, you know, alienate your core fans. Whatever. -Its always come down to what makes $$$ this will never change, I just think that they are losing more money by not do any 25th/MA figures and only focusing on the movie figures. I do agree with you and hope that Resolute is a hit but I hope that the movie does well also. If the movie blows everyone at my job is gonna be like "this is the crap you are into" and I just dont se my self say "thats not G.I. Joe!!! this is my G.I. Joe!!!" and not come across as some 40ty year old virgin

I'm using this time without new classics to buy vintage vehicles. I've already got a HAVOC, a WHALE, a Polar Battle Bear, a Snowcat, and a Tactical Battle Platform this month. I think it's a good time to give us a break!

this is how i feel too. i will be picking up the movie line, but not in the quanities that i did with the 25th. i will collect like i did with VvsV, joe vs cobra, and spy-troops, a little bit here and there. i will focus my cash mostly, on finishing the original arah line.

I admit it is sad that the line is taking a hiatis, but in way it's also good for me to take a break. Although I still find myself hunting, when I'm bored but I usually talk myself out of going. I guess I'll be a window shopper when the Movie lines comes out

I am loosing interest becasue I know the 25th line is going on "hiatus". I hope they come back eventaully. There are still SO many figures/vehicles Hasbro should make! I will be getting the two 7-packs...and hopefully I can find the new wave of vehicles(Stinger, arctic hiss ect)....
But other than that....theres not much more for me to buy. Although I still enjoy 'the hunt'. The Resolute figurea are cool....but I dont need another figure of a character I already have. Ill wait to pass judgement on the movie line until I see them in person....but I doubt Ill buy many.. if any at all. But like this poster said... and I quote: "When all is said and done, I'm actually grateful for a bit of a break. It will make me appreciate what I have rather than being focused on getting what I don't have. I'll be able to re-evaluate and re-focus my collection so that when the classics come back next year, I'll be excited about the line again. OB" I agree. Well said! NSP

I'm all caught up right now. I have exercised more self control with troop building especially at the price point they are now. It's been a long time since December when the Wave 13 singles were released and nothing else after that. I also have the vehicles I want and bought a couple of the 5 packs out there. I am just waiting for the movie toys to come out and pick up a few here and there.

It's bitter sweet. I want to get more, but due to the economy right now, I'm glad I'm catching a break with my Joe stuff. If we were getting hard-hit with new product like when Waves 10-13 hit, with all the singles, exclusives, CPs and vehicles, I'd be waaaaay behind.
I wish the future of the 25th line was a little more guaranteed, but I'm trying to be hopeful that we'll see a return after the movie ends, because I've got at least 10 more missing Joes I feel are "essential" to my Joe ranks, and probably another 10-20 beyond that which I'd love to see made. Beyond those guys, it's just bonus figures. If not, it was a good run, and it means I have to get cranking on the customs, which I've sort of already done in the lull time while we wait on those amazing 7-packs and what little "classic"-inspired figures we'll had peppered throughout the movie line. |

The retailers around here aren't ordering anything new. I've never seen anything past wave 11 on the pegs here, so I ended up getting Blowtorch and my carded Resolute figures from HTS.
My interest hasn't died off yet, but it probably will unless we see classic ARAH figures mixed in with the movie line. I hope they do what Transformers did for Jazz when they released him in his classic colors -- for Cover Girl. Brunette hair paint app and costume colored more like her Wolverine driver figure. But as for my interest, it hasn't died off yet. I've still got several comic packs to get, the extreme environment Cobra packs, all the comics, the Resolute showing.... |

100% feel the same way man. I'm actually more pumped about the characters coming out for the marvel universe line at this point. I find myself actually cutting down my joe collection for custom fodder as of late. Different costumes of the same character no longer exist in my collection. Its kinda sad but all good things must come to an end as they say.
