I really only got back into Joes with the 25th line. The movie figures don't really interest me at all, and I'm not a big fan of the Resolute stuff either. More money for MOTU and DCUC unless things change back to the classic line.
I agree that it seems that Hasbro is just winging it with this line. We've all seen the battle damaged BAT and it's card back. We all saw the Resolute comic covers. We've seen the wave 5 vehicles come and go, and come back. We saw Major Bludd announced, pulled, then released. We've got a TRU Viper 5 pack we've been told is coming but isn't here, and maybe never will. Changes get made, and that's understandable, but this line is ridiculous.
Hasbro already has plans for 2010 for the Star Wars line, Mattel stated that they're about a year in advance for planning in the MOTU line, McFarlane runs a year or TWO in advance for most of it's lines. Maybe I'm wrong and Hasbro has the Joe line all planned out for the next year, I just hope those plans include two simultaneous lines like Transformers, Marvel 3 3/4", and others have.

I like the break for my wallet. I've stopped/sold my 25th figures/vehicles from the 88/89 years and am concentrating on 82-87 25th stuff. This is mostly due to room and because I like mulitples of army builders and vehicles. I love the 88-90 years, but the 82-87 stuff (particularly the cartoon-era stuff, which is more of the defining canon of G.I. Joe for me) has a soft spot in my heart. Besides, I don't see the point of having just to have; my 88-89 stuff was stored in boxes. What fun is that?

Nope. I didn't start collecting 25th figs until late 2008. A lot of the figures from 2007 are new to me when I buy them on ebay. The line is still going strong from my view.
Have to trade:
-MIB Twin Cannon
-MIB Desert Ram
-POC Low Light
-POC Destro (v27)
-POC Shadow Tracker
-POC Snake Eyes (v54)
-25th Red Ninjas
-25th Ninja Vipers
I don't care if the figures are loose or even incomplete :-)

Like a lot of folks, I'm not at all interested in the movie stuff. So other than the 7 packs and wave 5 vehicles, my GI Joe toy buying days appear to be finished.

Yes it would have been nice to see a covergirl, low light, kwinn and october guard, and I am sure everyone else has a list, but generally we got the majority of the "iconic"figures.
As for the movie, I want to see it. This will be good for the line if its done right. There is also a video game that I will be getting as well since there hasn't been a joe video game that I have played since the one on the commodore 64, so that is good news. There is also the resolute 1 hour cartoon, that will be better than any joe cartoon out there, so not too shabby by hasbro I would say.
As for the movie toys I will pass. I was only interested in the 25th line really, but some of the toys look alright.
I would think some of you would be happy to save some money with the break and the fact that there is a recession.

Heh, I've actually gained interest, believe it or not. I've been collecting since 1982. I loved the Anniversary line, but where was the NEW stuff? I've got all these guys in o-ring form already, bring on some new ideas.
Now we're getting some very new ideas, new looks, new concepts, and new characters. I'm all for it. I'll take Sgt. Stone over "Cartoon-Accurate Snake Eyes in that one episode that one time in Season 2" any day of the week.
If nothing else, it totally leaves me guessing. When we see leaked Wal-Mart lists for characters like Charbroil and Kamakura, at least now I actually don't know what to expect...

i lost so much interest in the 25th joes i sold them all, yeah i know its depressing. i dont have the patients to wait around a year to find out if we will get are modern joes back and truthefully id rather focus on vintage. i recently got into transformers which are new for me and alot more exciting. a bit expensive but i enjoy them.
to me i guess its pointless to keep collecting the modern joes with so many repaints and not enough cool stuff coming out and on top of that with hasbro not releasing these in mass like they should of i couldnt take the fustration of never finding what i wanted. also modern joes will never be as important to me as my vintage joes since vintage holds the nostalgia factor for me.
im not at all excited for movie crap as i call it and dont want any part of it. we all new the modern joes would come to an end but i know that i wasnt expecting it as soon as it happened. after toyfair, it took me like 2 weeks to just except it and move on. i was bummed. modern joes are awsome and all but i done for now. if hasbro decided to release them again when the movie stuff is over then ill prolly get back into them but for now ill just get all the hard to find vintage figs i dont have and build up my transformers collection.

Based on what I have seen that is coming I have completely lost interest. The last Vehicle wave , the 7 packs and if I can EVER find a couple of Eels and I am done.
