My brother and I had many Figures to play with, in fact, Scarlet was my first Joe figure. My brother had the bulk of the Joes and I had my Scarlet. Well one day my Mom came home from the store and handed me a small bag from "Hills" She smiled as she handed the bag to me and said, "I love you a lot you know." I remember that day very well. inside the bag was the second Joe I ever had, Flash. Why she gave me him I do not know, what I do know is that one figure meant more to me than any toy I had ever received or ever would receive. I still have him...

I agree with all you've said about value. Ultimately, in the grand scheme of things, they have no real value, other than personal enjoyment. |

Yes I agree, it is good line. I am also looking forward to the movie line. I am not looking for future value, I just want to make some really nice photo's. The joy I get from collecting now comes from people on this and a few other sites. My childhood sense of wonder and joy comes from the meet-ups here in Ohio with other fans and collectors. The feeling of belonging to a group of people who share in my excitement happiness, far outweigh any monetary value these toys will ever have.

Yea, I have to say the group of guys up here in northeast Ohio, who collect, are pretty great. I am pretty blessed to have such a good group near by.

I have Flash still carded because he was one of my first Joe's but not just that, there is a story behind him.

I think once the movie line eclipses the current series, the MOMC single cards of 25th/Modern will go up in secondary market value and will be very popular with Joe and other collectors for years to come.
I just don't see Hasbro going back to that style of packaging after the movie, whether or not the film and its toys are successful. |

Thanks hun, I wanted to share that with all of you reading this thread. I have a personal reason to be here. I know there are a few other ladies on the board but not many. I don't know why they are here but I do know why I am here. I am here because my life is complicated. I work 40 hours a week. I go to school (working towards my RN degree). I take care of the house. I could go one but that is not needed. The point is I need something to help me relax and this group does that for me.

I used to read this great young adult series by Seth McEvoy called Not Quite Human involving a teenage android. I had all the books in the series except for #3 Bugs in the System. I don't even remember asking for it or anything and one day my Dad came into my room and gave me a bag and inside was the book. For him to go out of his way like that and get that for me, I'll never forget it. I really miss him
