I am not advocating opening every figure, I just feel that their a few people who are banking on future value. It is OK to do so but I am not convinced that the 25th line will make a good sound investment.
Far be it for me to crush any ones dreams. If collecting 25th GI Joes mint in mint package makes you happy do it. Be happy with your collection, that is after all my advice to all of us.

I agree 100%
I wish I had sold my comic book collection years ago.I remember starting collecting when I was young.I still have like about 20 copies of McFarlanes Spider-Man 1 and almost all 80's-90's comics mint some never even read, now they aren't worth much.Kids just don't read or collect comics anymore, change of the times with the internet and video gaming this same attitude is prelevent on wall street as well. look at how many stocks were purchase in the housing market, and how many house were bought on speculation that they could be flipped for a profit. now look at the mess these people created, they nearly crashed the economy. another example is oil prices. the speculators aritficially increased the price of oil last year giving us $4.00 a gallon gas. that market collapsed when the specualtors starting selling, you seen a drop of $2.00 a gallon over night. you cant let your greed control what you buy.

G.I. Joe 25th will increase in value over the long haul. The first release figures on the thin cards were so short printed along with people opening them the price is going to sky rocket in the future.
It will be just like having a straight arm MOSC.

what is the worth depends on who you ask, what sets the prices? AFA? Hasbro? the Comic Book shop owner? That sleazy guy at the flea market?
Because honestly I seen a few things from the entire joe line worth over 100$. |

I doubt these things will be worth jack in 25 years......the only reason they went for so much is because people had to have them right now and couldnt wait a month or maybe 2.....I doubt we will have to wait 25 years......come back in 2 and lets see how much they are worth....And besides all the fans keeping them locked up in their closet or basement are going to keep the price down.
The only reason the OG Joes are worth something is because we opened them as kids not caring what they would be worth in 10, 15, 25 years.........MOC figs were hard to come by....which is why they are worth a lot..... If your banking on these to be your retirement, good luck to you.....Id really start a 401 K though..... |
