Today I was out,and stopped by Walmart to pick up a few items I needed for everyday stuff...
Of coarse I had to look at the action figures. I normally only look at joes, but this little fella caught my eye. My son originally loved his 5 POA Spider-Man figure that came with a motorcycle my mother bought him,and a stop in the toy section to find him another Spider-Man figure is what led to me start buying him joes instead just because they're so much better! Or where better it seems.. How can this be? How can they let gijoe fall behind another line in articulation? if you look past the cartoonish proportions on this Spider-Man figure its...yeah I'm gonna say it....better then a gijoe.:( I don't need the extra leg stuff, but this figures albows&head joint destroy any gijoe Ive seen to date!! we need this on the next line of joes!!! Hey gijoe, what do you mean you can't look down the sights of the weapon you came with? Spider-Man can set his chin on the rifle!! what gijoe? you can't tilt your foward, and to the side at the same time to look straight the down optics of your own gun? Spidy can!! Who can see you magnified X32 with crosshairs between your eyes? who else? Spider-Man!!! like a boss! Last edited by BlazerZR5; 09-08-2013 at 03:14 PM.. |

The only problem I can see arising from giving Joes that extra arm joint, would be Joe ending up with long lanky arms.
If they can figure the right proportions, I'd be all for it.

^his arms right now are no longer then a joes. In fact Im pretty sure those arms would look perfect on a female joe since they're skinny...only that figures legs are out of proportion with a joe.
Idk if joes that offered that feature where $12,I'd be all over it! his neck is almost as amazing as his arms! he can do the rice rocket pose,or lay flat on his belly, and still look up into a rifle scope on a bipod...just about the most impressed Ive been with a figure since I bought my son his first ME Joe. |

The neck joint is a big ole YES, the double elbows can be skipped just cut down the upper arm to improver the rang of motion. I'd take better looking over the extra elbow joint if they just let the elbow move a little bit more.
And Marvel Universe figs hve had that neck for a while Ghost Rider had it not sure if anyone before him. Also they do the rocker ankles right, you need that extra calf joint if you have the rockers or you can't point the toes out. If you search there have been tutorials on how to give joes the neck joint. But I wish Hasbro would just make joes with it, at least snipers but everyone would be better with them. Last thing those spidys are at ross for $5. |

Adding the double-jointed arms would remedy the problem many ME figures have with not being able to hold a rifle properly with both hands. The neck would enable them to properly fire in the prone position. The comic pack MU Havock also had this neck articulation BTW.
Both would be great additions to the GI Joe line! |

When I look at that Spider-man, all I see is a monstrosity of hinges and rivets on his arms. That would destroy the look of most Joe figures. Think of how awful the Ultimate Roadblock would look. The only way that works well is if the arms have a lot of armor or covering to them. It shouldn't be done on bare arms. If it were up to me the Joe's wouldn't even have double jointed knees. They're just a waste in most cases. Marvel figures are even worse. That mid-thigh swivel is awful.

You are dead on accurate. My son has that figure and while it is cool, and can make for great posing the arms and legs are rather long and disproportionate. "Spiderman Spiderman shortest torso in the land!"

The later Gundam MSiA figures had double jointed elbows with good proportions usually. It is possible, but would take more effort and money to incorporate into the figure design.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that Spiderman figure in particular is a chase figure of epic proportions. It's supposed to be Excellent beyond belief.
This is one of the cases of figures it belongs with on big bad toy store. The Amazing Spider-Man Mission Figure Series 03 - Case of 12 - The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) 3.75" Mission Figures Here's another. The Amazing Spider-Man Mission Figure Series 03 Revision 02 - Case of 12 - The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) 3.75" Mission Figures Notice something about the rest of the figures? Yeah, that spiderman is posh, but the cost is all the other figures in the case definitely aren't. |
