I found out why the change was made on the Tiger Rat and Python Conquest. It was to save on labor, shipping and destruction of said item on store shelves cost.
Apparently it saved them enough so they didn't have to raise the prices to 29.99. I found this out at work yesterday among a few other things. I thought I would share.

I don't think it takes an expert to deduce that you could save money on labor by not assembling the vehicles as well as space and not providing repackers with the opportunity to take anything they want from a window display.

Yeah, now they can take it from a closed box so you wouldn't know it was repacked.

You can still tell if a box has been tampered with. If you cannot then you really shouldn't be buying it.

what happens to those people who really want to check out what they're buyin? i mean if its a closed box, then its like there is a 50-50 chance that you'll get what you really paid for. :(

Most men are already accustom to that from years and years of dating the opposite sex.

Exactly my argument for Hasbro to give us the packaging we want. As for repacking they are going to do it anyway. Just be smarter than the Target Service Counter people and make sure it is factory sealed, and not sealed with a different kind of tape.
