As one of the older collectors, here I remember all of my Joes & Cobras vividly and especially remember purchasing a V1 Storm Shadow when I was 15 years old. I bought it at KMart in Toms River, which I'm sure probably isn;t even standing anymore.
Being 15, I certainly wasn't playing with toys, as I was too busy playing with the girls, but knew that figure held a special spot in my heart. I still have that figure to this day, as it sits in my glass display case with all of my Sideshow, Hot Toys & Medicom product. When the 25th style figures were released, I was thrilled to "close the circle" by getting that first Cobra pack with a new V1 Storm Shadow. A perfect figure in every way..but as time went on, I realized little items were not quite correct such as the long sleeves and especially the off white color. No matter..it was good enough. Then cam the Hall of Heroes announcement and the realization that this version of the V! Storm Shadow and the V2 Snake Eyes were perfect in every way. They arrived last night I just held them, looking on like a kid in glee, one more time. The line could seriously end at this point and I'd be happy. It was nice to feel like a kid again, just one more time. Thanks Hasbro! |

God I hope the line doesn't end.
No offense, but I don't like the attitude "it matches my childhood memories, don't care what happens now". We want Joe around for more years, that means growth/change to the line. Anyways... I don't mind changes from the original, so having "perfect vintage versions" is a waste of time/resources that could be spent producing other figures. I don't care if Storm Shadow perfectly matches the vintage one. I'd pretty much expect it not to, I'd hope that it would be more detailed and better since the methods to produce toys have advanced. Glad you were able to complete the circle.

Nice story, Steel.
I, too, hope the line doesn't end. I got the HoH. Not worth it, in my opinion. If you are on the fence, i recommend getting Flint and SS. SE w/ Timber, Viper, Firefly, and Beachhead are pretty solid, too. The BD BAT, CG, and black SE are not worth the expense, unless you are a MOC collector. The Cobra Island BD BAT comes with more gear and accessories. I may get another SS and Flint to open. And Firefly. I will take the HoH gear -- the vintage bp and green smg and phone and the harness -- and pair it with the cp Firefly for my definitive Firefly. This is the definitive Flint and SS for me also, adding a bow for SS. I like the second 5pack SE w/Timber better. Bp, ninja feet vs almost the same thing, sans bp and combat boots. My $.02. Now bring on the Cobra Island packs!!

Didn't the original Storm Shadow have sleeves, as opposed to H.O.H. no sleeves?
I'd like to see some new Joes... characters we've never seen before. Who's with me? |

Yeah. There's still so many military professions that haven't been hit yet, pararescuemen being one of the tops. Would love some new Joes. I would love if Hasbro actually did a real SEaL figure. They aren't divers for the love of god, when will Hasbro finally get a SEaL done right? New figures/additions are great. Bazooka Trooper and Para-Viper kick major ass.

I'd love a new Blaster and Avalanche. Blaster was always one of my favorites, love the look.
Dodger isn't bad either.
