Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds? Think about that for a moment. You are saying research and development shouldn't be a factor in pricing....
While your thinking about that, im going to sig that comment

Of course the development costs are always factored into the equation. Just like building real airplanes. The B-2 doesn't necessarily cost $2 billion each in material and labor. They also factor all of the money the air force spent on Northrop in development costs, which is the largest overhead expenditure from the get go. All those things factored in determine cost. They have to look at how many they can sell. My guess is that they don't think they'll sell that many for more than $30, which is what I'm guessing everything combined would cost.

If its a new tooling and considering it would have to be about the same size or a bit bigger, I can see spending 50$ easy--with pilot Ace of coarse. Considering all the detail and accessories we could get. I would definately spend the money. If they could make it look like what SUPERFLANKER made, I would buy a palette and just take the heat from the wife.

If the new plane came with TWO figures, $49.99 doesn't seem like such a stretch... Ace being one of them... Maybe Ripcord being the other...

lol. When a toy gets made they already have a price in mind. It isn't set or altered by the price of a mold.
You do understand that it costs Hasbro 4.60 a unit to build and ship a rattler to the U.S. from China. I think they could sell it for 34.99 and still come out just fine.
