This thread is a good idea, I get a good laugh at what some dumbass can get away with. The only problem is that people will start posting pics of "fakes" and we wont know who to trust.

As you know, all across this country a travesty is occurring. People are repacking figures, exclusives and vehicles and it's on our last nerve. It's wrong and it's illegal. Theft! Its not that I really care I am missing out on something, because I know I will eventually find what I am looking for, it's that its just plain wrong and will lead to new policies that wont be favorable to anyone.
In light of the new Lead Law it also leaves retailers open to a world of legal problems. Should a lead "contaminated" product make it to the consumer because the store did NOT have an adequate return policy...you draw the picture. If you have pix of repacks on the shelves please post them here, we need examples for retailers. But I have to admit that there is a spot of sympathy for why some people do this. There's no legitimate reason for Hasbro, or it's partners in retail, to offer a 40 dollar alternative to getting the 7 dollar figure everyone wants when it's packed into a DVD set where no one wants 95% of the product offered. I get mine thought the net, via shipping, so I can't take them back to a box store. But I can't deny that I wouldn'tbe tempted to hand the screwing over right back to the retailers for offering such an absurd alternative to being given a viable alternative. |

sorry, that logic doesn't work. there are always alternative methods. there are forums such as this, ebay, and countless other legit options to aquire singular wants from collective sets. these methods are simple and easy. there is no need to resort to stealing plain and simple.

And those are the methods I've not resorted to. But I'm simply saying I can understand why some people have decided to do so. As I said, I don't support the action, but I understand the reasoning behind it. I don't get welfare, but I understand why it's helpful.
The fact that Dusty is obly available to someone who is willing to drop 50 bucks on a set of figures they don't want is absurd. I get why some people do it. I don't support it, but I understand it. You're pretending that I'm condoning the crime when all I've actually done is understand the unacceptable method. Last edited by Devil King; 02-23-2009 at 12:17 AM.. |
