I will say that being polite gets you a lot further in life in most instances and a TRU it's no different. When the last round of 50th figures came out it seemed like they were never going to hit my TRU, they had been out over two months at this point. A manager walked up to me and asked if they could help me find anything and I started telling them I collect G.I. Joes and made some jokes about being n adult collector, nerd, etc... we laughed and he told me how he collects WWE figures and understood the whole collecting scene. We talked for a few more minutes and then he said hold on let me check something for you. He said a truck had come in but they just started to unload it. He radioed in to the guy on the truck and gave him their store code(s) for Joes and they indeed had some product. He went to the truck and the two of them dug through and found the boxes and brought them out. I was able to get fresh cases of both the 2-packs and 3-packs. I really expressed my gratitude for them going the extra mile for me. I have been plenty of times since and got the same treatment from him and any other supervisor/manager there. It's how I got multiple Gung-ho/Shadow Guard packs. It's also made my collecting of the 6" SW BS line much easier. All I am saying is it's as simple as being nice, striking up a conversation, treating employees like human beings, thanking them for their efforts even if futile and they will usually help you out the best they can.
We used to have two TRUs in the area. The older one closed up but they had good customer service. When they were clearancing off the LOTR (maybe Hobbit) action figures, I went in with my daughter to look for some and the guy found what they had in the back. The new TRU though, every employee acts like they hate being there, hate toys, and hate you personally. I am sure the job sucks, lots of jobs suck. At least while you are there, do your freaking job. Part of that job is being able to find items, tell a customer if they are in the store, and if they are getting more in. |

I live in Texas.. there are 5 within 10 miles Of me. The others are about an hour to 2 hours out. But thanks to my fiancé, I know people pretty much at all of them who give me a call when they get stuff in. So I don't drive out as frequent as I used to. Lol

I sure did.. then turn around and sold them at cost to friends on here, Canada and gave several to friends I know outside of here.. basically, I beat the scalpers so that other could get these figures at reasonable prices. ;) lol

If you're nice to the employees, it's not near as expensive bribing them to save you the htf stuff to resell.
