I am not sure if this is posted on here elsewhere, or if you are aware, but there is a new cancellation policy in the pile o loot at BBTS, 15 days, in regards to purchases. Previously you could purchase or have pre-ordered and then charged as a purchase, and as long as it was in the pile o loot you could cancel it out before shipping, but now once that occurs you have to cancel in 15 days or you can no longer cancel the order (for example if you find an item cheaper). I just wanted to let everyone know this in case you were caught flat footed and stuck with some items you no longer were going to want.
This obviously is going to affect my purchasing decisions and using BBTS moving forward. Chuckles32 |

To clarify (wasn't there already a thread for this?):
This doesn't change preorders at all. You can still cancel preorders anytime up until they show up. What this does mean is that once the preorder does actually show up and you are charged for it (and it's placed in your "pile of loot"), you only have 15 days to cancel and receive store credit for it. In other words, they're tightening up their rules to make it harder to abuse the system and potentially make them take a loss, as I bet there are people that were letting their stuff linger in Pile of Loot forever and a day, finding it at retail, then canceling their order, leaving BBTS with leftovers, and people carrying "rolling credit" with them that they effectively never actually used. |

Yep, or leaving the item in there long enough that the price drops at their site, then cancelling the original order and buying it at the cheaper price. That example came up in the original thread on this topic.
Rolling credit wouldn't be so bad since BBTS would already have the money at that point... it'd be more like a gift card or something. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 03-31-2009 at 11:33 AM.. |
