Best of the 80's pack??
Oh you mean the mythical DVD pack that never made its way to Canadian shelves...
along with POD and ASA...
but we have an ABUNDANCE of Greatest Battles... FAIL!
In the end, you'll see my name carved in stone...

Wow! I received my from D&S Toys in November 2008. You'd think it'd be on the shelf somewhere. I predict more later. Hasbro always comes through even if it takes 6 years. I've been collecting Star Wars since 95. They released only a few Darktroopers back then and finally they released him again last year. He's a sweet figure! If I didn't have it by now I would wait 6 years (if I didn't see it anywhere else for a cheap price) then buy it off hisstank or ebay. What do you guys do? Patience usually wins in this hobby.

Its really annoying that I've seen the Greatest Battles, but never the Alpine set. The first time I saw the Arise Serpentor set was when it was clearanced at Wallyworld. Lucked out and got Dusty with his web gear.
I'm really annoyed HTS hasn't restocked them.

I haven't seen DVD packs on shelves in 2 months. And those were the 1st two sets on clearance. No tags on the shelves now

Only saw it on the shelf once... otherwise I bought mine through HTS about 4 months ago. I had a feeling something like this would happen though. Hasbro tends to short-ship items when it comes toward the end of the production run (as evidenced by many Star Wars items in the past... the Teebo wave, R2 w/Holo Leia wave, not to mention the Temple of Doom figures, etc.). I understand that they're trying to make room for new merchandise, but one has to wonder if there is another motive somewhere out there...
I wouldn't be surprised if they did pop up around movie time again though... my usual answer is "be patient", but this is one of those instances where I'm not sure if patience will pay off.

on the topic of short shipping, i think it would be in our best interest to hold on to some of these revision cards that seemed disposable at one point.
sure the 25th logo reigns supreme, but if the line does come to a lull, these revision cards might end up being the hot ticket down the road.
i have a funny feeling about this one...
or it might just be my lunch talking.

Only seen Best of the 80's at least 6 times for retail out of those six the 1st time seeing it ended up getting it for xmas!
Weird that they used figures from 87 movie intro and none from the actual 80's like Footloose or Alpine. No just only unique characters were Alpine and Chromed out CC the other figs were just rehased garbage.

Good luck. At least the GI Joe series is coming back on DVD. I'm miffed about the Best of the 80s, but hey, I am golden with a season. I'll custom Alpine.
