I'm a big fan of the para viper figure. His gear and look are sweet. However, after looking at his card art I noticed his grouped under the "as seen in gi joe comics" category. I've read all of the marvel series except 151-155, all of the image and ddp, and all of the IDW run so far and I've never seen him in a single issue. Am I just not remembering him? Anyone else know where he's specifically located in the comics?

I was under the impression he was an all-new character. They had paratroopers in the comic and toon, but they weren't the full-blow HALO jumpers these guys are.

Hasbro has three logos - cartoon, comic and international. considering this figure has zero to do with any of the three and is brand new, it was arbitrary which they chose.
on a barely related note, I was surprised to see the new red ninja figure on a comic card instead of an international card considering his artwork. I would have preferred the card have been international in an homage to the Satan figure the same way Storm Shadow was to Ninja Ku. |

he is brand new and they don't have a package for "all new characters" so they put him in comics package. same with bazooka trooper.
it's no big deal, had to put him in some kind of packaging

Unfortunately the comics were swimming with red ninjas.
Here's what I found on the para-vipers and bazooka vipers... Issue 11... Issue 14... While not exactly the same as the figure, it's as close as I could find. But like everyone else said... it's all Hasbro had to work with... kind of like getting Red Star and the Hard Master on a GI Joe stand when they had nothing to do with the GI Joe team. |

They put the comic logo on the second release of the MASS Device COBRA Commander...
A Para-Viper repaint is a repaint I want. In Strato-Viper colors. I want a COBRA Air Strike set similar to the Arctic Assault/Desert sets with: Strato-Viper AVAC AVAC Officer (dark blue instead of red) Para-Viper (in Strato-Viper colors) COBRA Rattler Pilot (dark blue Wild Weasel repaint) COBRA Paratrooper (from the Best Of 80's set) Pilot Baroness (new 5-pack body in cartoon colors with her helmet from the cartoon) Last edited by Barefoot Jedi; 03-28-2009 at 04:04 AM.. |
