I recently procured the resolute 5 pack. I have only seen photos of the movie...crap. I prefer the direction of the resolute line. the kiddo missle launcher in said 5 pack seems to make sense since it is a mounted deal, and its not too wackey looking like a giant crossbow. Aslo the sculpts are fresh but keep within the distinct and varied (flashy) uniforms of the series's past. The movie ...crap...looks all the same, which i suppose is more "realistic" it muddies the idea of the individual on a visual stand point...yadd ya dd aydda. I really do not feel like going into the nuts and bolts, but basicaly i see the resolute as a (safe)logical progression for the 25th in the way that will keep it fresh and rooted in the old (i mean the joe team loves them jetpacks). The movie stuff is just a "flash in the pan" deal like many other joe spin off forces (extreme, eco,.battle forece, dino force, my beloved cobra-la, etc.). Now if the resolute aviods the repack and repaint cut corner crap my faith in hasbro will be renewed (and yes i am aware the 5 pack is just that). so resolute for me! COBRA!

The movie stuff should have been made to blend in with the 25th line, I think they will look different next to each other.

I would much, MUCH rather have some classic Joes in 25th style. Resolute is any easy second choice.

If the movie toys looked interesting, or even looked like Hasbro spent more than a couple of minutes creating them, then I would have voted for the movie toys.

So far the movie line has been the most disappointing effort from Hasbro..IMO. I would even prefer Valor Vs. Venom. I mean in the very first wave they've already puked up several repainted, rehashed junk.

So far from what I've seen, it seems that Resolute is the true update/re-imaging of GI JOE rather than the movie. The designs look like near future military, which is what Joe is supposed to be. The Movie figs look more like X-men superheros. Which is ok, its just not Joe.
Especially when we see the movie figs packed with spring-loaded rocket launchers, this just brings back the bad old days of "Day-Glo-Joes". |

I am sure the movie will be worth seeing for the action , just like indy 4. And just like indy toys, rise of cobra toys will be on clearance by xmas. So hasbro be quick about it, bust your load , clear your head , and get back to resolute ! The movie line of toys has no eye appeal. " you do not take rib eye steak to a $10 buffet "
