How many of each troop would you consider enough? I know we all wish we had as many as we could get but my question is how many of each troop would be required to have a pretty good size army.
I am concentrating on getting at least 20-30 of the soldiers, About 10 officers, 20-30 of crimson guards, and 20-30 of the vipers. On things such as para vipers, red divers/ninjas,eels, Snow serpents I feel a simple squad is sufficient of maybe 5 or so. Does that sound about right??? what do I build my troops with joes? I know the greenshirts but I want to know how to get the old 3 3/4 inch action marines and soldiers etc. from 94 I believe. Anybody know where I could score a lot of those??? |

I "army build" in groups of 3, I dont have a huge area to display stuff so its small battles or dios at a time. Groups of 3 lets me have a squad leader, a trooper and a specialist. Enough to convey the idea, I can "imagine" the rest of the squad is off doing something.
But some people like LOTS of guys for big dios, and if you got the space go for it...

I try to stay away from odd numbers of troops which sometimes doesn't work. I have 30 wave 2 troopers with 9 officers , 40 Vipers, 21 Crimson guards, 25 Fred/scar face CP, 4 crimson/1 blue shirt TRU SRO' 3 5pk crimson guard 1 5pk night watch/1 se vs ninjas, 10 hiss tank drivers, 12 red ninjas and I don't remember the rest.

I say troop build to whatever you want to set your limits to. I use a nice even number for my squads(10 total per squad, 1 Commander/Squad Leader/Officer and 9 troopers). If I am going to get more than 1 squad of each, which I do, I also make a custom figure that is the Commanding Officer over all of the other squads or for the Crimson Guards I used the Crimson Guard Officer for that rank/position. As far as the Eels/Divers/Ninjas/Snow Serpants go I'd say whatever you want to do. If you want alot of Cobra Navy stuff, go with bigger squads of Eels/Divers/Lampreys and a bunch of Sting Raiders. If you want a big Cobra Arctic team get alot of Snow Serpants and Arctic H.I.S.S. tanks. If you like the Cobra Ninjas get a ton of the Red/Black(Ninja-Ku Storm Shadow)/Ninja Vipers and have Storm Shadow as their leader. It's all up to you, your space and your budget in the end.

I have one of each Trooper/CG/Viper/etc variant. That's quite enough of an "army" for me.

I was going to do two 5-man squads of each (s 10 of each) but quickly realized I would run out of room very quickly.
So 3 of each it is!

I would go with 20 or so blueshirts and add a couple of officers and televipers just to outnumber the Joes in a dio. 5 each of the specialist like the para-vipers, eels etc. looks good for support and special missions
