Where does everyone display/play with their toys?
Seeing as we are all from different ages/backgrounds/economic situations etc.. I'm curious what you all have set aside (or not) for JOE PLAY! Personally, I have basically nothing. I set up a little 'man cave' in the Garage with my PC/XBOX360/PS3 and Joes to keep me company. But unfortunantly display space is limited to about a shelf and a half on a bookshelf and if I want to do a diorama I have the top of a storage bin! I'd love to have the room to spread my stuff out like some of you, but there are CATS inside (sworn enemy of all things displayed) and a 2 year old (devourer of [plastic] worlds). One of these days I'll clean out enough space to set up a table.. hopefully...

all i have for the time being is my case i made. the rest of it is stored till i can make a room for all of it! i made the case so i can enjoy at least some of my stuff. i wish i could enjoy it all but it aint happining for a minute, so i just enjoy what i have. eventually i will turn each shelf into a dio. pretty soon one shelf will be a desert. 2 shelves stay the same, an the last shelf will be a swamp, but that will be awhile as well, cus the trees i need cost a pretty penny. so the desert one is first since where im from i got sand from all angles. i got the beach an i got sand pits for days!!

I do my thing mostly in the bathroom. As for where I display my collection, I have a room for that. Most of it is stored away in boxes.

My son keeps most of "our" collection (opened) in large plastic bins stacked neatly in cabinets in his room. I put up numerous shelves on his walls and across the top of his windows to display my vintage stuff. The figures I really dig are on a shelf above my computer, on the window ledges (my computer area is in a sun room in my house - blinds shut tight), and on various small shelves that I have made and hung.
My convention stuff and original '82 items gather little light or dust in my safe. Most of the Dio's I set up are very temporary as I too have a almost 2 year old muncher of plastic. I set them up in the main family room, we pick sides, and then have the battle (Joe's always win, and Destro always escapes with Baroness). Last edited by ShockVal; 05-19-2009 at 10:26 AM.. |
