I recently began opening and displaying my collection now that I got myself a display case. The thing is I've noticed an obvious difference in quality between everything on 25th cards/5 packs and newer stuff. The figures on 25th card feel more solid and (in my case) never have had "jimmy" legs or loose torso so they don't bend down all the time. It's not so much paint apps but sturdiness. Even the revisions seem to come better built than my blowtorch or airborn which came so "loose" I had a very hard time standing them up on their stand. Anyone else experience this?

Actually, I think it just depends on the particular figure. There is a definite difference between single cards, comic packs, and 5 packs though. I think the TRU 5 packs and 3 packs have the worst quality, especially the 3 packs like the SRO Joes; it's like they didn't even try with those things. LOL.
And IMO the newer comic packs have worse quality control than the earlier ones. For example when I went to Wal-mart ALL of the new Tunner-Rat and Shockblast figures were of poor quality. Out of 8 comic packs I could only find one of each that had perfect head sculpts. |

I think they had to speed things up & move on to the movie line, these new Joe & Cobra 5 pack figures have more smeared paint jobs than ever before.
I've even seen a few 5 pack Vipers with glue running down their face shield from under the helmet.
