I think the people who bought these to sell for a profit, should sell them around the release of the movie. I think all the movie hype will increase your sells slightly.

I have all of the early additions on foil cards. I didn't buy any of the revision stuff again on white bordered cards except for maybe Vipers...
Selling my entire collection... Check it out...

I think the Foil's were much more attractive, and they were a "limited" run in some sense.
Worth more? Somewhat, just because people want the "rare" versions. You can buy almost any of the white bordered figures from online retailers now (you can get almost all Foils on ebay too) but having the ability to pay +/- retail for whites will keep the prices down for now.

I think the silver logo, the 25th logo in the corner, the silver border and the explosion art on the original 25th cards looks better than the current Modern card. I dislike the "comic" and "cartoon" logos, etc., in the corner of the current cards. I'd rather they just left it blank.
Had I known they were going to re-issue most of them, I'd not have opened as many as I did. I have like three 25th Flint fullcards that I opened for displays. Who knew???

25th cards will be worth more than comics, but I can tell you why they are not on foil and why they are on white cards. It's because hasbro is cheap. To print on foil stock is real expensive. The foil paper is about 3x the price of white stock and the ink is twice as much because when you run foil it has to run U.V. I can tell you the opaque white that gets printed first is about $35 a pound, can you tell that I do printing for a living. But that is why the rest of the figures from here on out will be on white stock and not foil.

The new 5 packs and white cards are clear examples of cut backs at HTS. Big business bottom line.
If anything, the 25th are historic markers of an American period before the recession, while the market was still booming. 2007 is historic for many reasons in our nation. the Joe line happened to be there - celebrating.
IMO, 25th Joe's will be American classics... creations unearthed during a period of renaissance.

Let's be honest. The first half of waves were the only ones that weren't produced in high numbers. My gut instinct is that if any of the carded (non-variant) figures are worth anything they will be waves 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 on the 25th foil cards.
The only box set that will be worth anything is the first Cobra set as the Joe set was produced twice, and the Legions set seemed to be everywhere.
That's my 2 cents.
