I'm getting tired of a couple things.
I'm tired of the constant flow of excuses from the club. It's always the factory, or the shipping company, or the corrupt hotel management, or the company that makes the glue that connects the bubble to the card, or the website company, or the fucking Easter bunny. It's never Brian or the club that is actually responsible or accountable for the constant fuckups and problems. I'm tired of the apologists. You really have no argument. The fact that Funpub has just a few employees is not my fucking problem. I have never heard anyone ever defend a company like this before. It's just silly. Honestly, have any of you ever dealt with any business that acts like this? The fact that they have a monopoly on gi joe is the only reason they are still around. In also tired of the argument that the membership figures and the 13th figures are free. They are not free, they're factored on to the costs of what you are buying. If you actually think they are free you are naive at best or just plain stupid. Economics just don't work that way. Now, I really want to like the club. I'm a customer that attends the conventions and buys all of their product so I support them with my wallet. I even personally like some of the people at funpub but I wish they would support us as customers. Sadly, if I had a choice to continue buying product from the club or to get the same product from anywhere else, I would go elsewhere, no matter where. Millions of people all over this country are running businesses better than this all day, every day. Think about it, would Brian be successful if he ran a donut shop, an accounting firm, or pumpkin farm? |

All-in-all, if the Club would just be honest and upfront earlier when they find an issue, then that would go a long way. Customer service is expected these days in every business. I love the Club and the people within it regardless of how whiny I may get, I just wish that they would not wait until the latest possible moment when a problem arises. Of course most are satisfied with the end result in their product, but the communication is very subpar.
For example, Many Homefront heroes were expecting their Boxsets within 4-6 weeks after the convention. Many were under the impression that the Club figure in Iceberg was just a sample bu not final product when talking about the head. Members should have been given a set timeframe in terms of trying to get a NF Lady Jaye but many received their e-mails well after they sold out due to the staggering o the e-mails. Many were expecting the forums to be back up on their website a lot sooner. Many had to rearrange their schedules due to the convention changing dates in New Orleans. Many were informed too late in terms of the credit card fiasco. etc, etc, etc... Quote:

I'm not a club apologist but I guess this is one instance where I just really don't understand all the anger. The fact is, this is NOT the first time a membership figure was sold at the convention first, now the reasons for that are whatever they are, but personally I have no problem with it because the convention is meant to be a celebration of all things GI Joe and there's nothing wrong with having some special perks to attending. But regardless of that, nearly everyone that got Iceberg complained about him endlessly! So if everyone thinks it's so terrible why is everyone in such a rush to get him now?
Lastly though, the VERY FIRST person to receive Footloose last year didn't get him until April 18th (but most of us didn't receive him until a couple of weeks later) see here: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...footloose.html The point being, if this is a yearly membership figure it's only been like a week past when most of us received last year's figure. I think people are just getting a little crazy because they know these were already sold at JoeCon. Believe me, I am as passionate about Joes as anyone here, but sometimes I think people treat this stuff like its a matter of life or death. You will receive Iceberg, probably in less than a month from now and at this time next year it will be some other figure, and the whole process will start over, so save yourself the headache, just try not to think about it and be pleasantly surprised when it shows up in the mail.

I have to say, I find the use of the term "free figure" highly deceptive. The fact that WE use it always makes me a little peeved. I think language is very important. "Membership figure" is fine, but free? It's like saying you're not paying for the meal at the restauarant, but rather ther booth you're sitting in and food happens to be brought to you as a result.
"Free" is not what the membership figure is. Worth it, yes, but free? No. It's odd that we use it to describe the thing. Tom Quote:

Please stop talking. The amount of insider information that you have is exactly zero.
Know how I know this? Because you posted a declassified flyer which was meant for fun as a NEWS ITEM. No one would ever tell you anything because the VERY FIRST THING you would do is post it here. Probably incorrectly. |

The email on Apr 26? That email said "All of the Membership Figures are scheduled to ship next week." So by my calendar "next week" is Apr 29th-May 4th. But on May 6th I read they haven't even shipped yet. If they were an eBay seller you'd be all over them for that.
Not a big deal to me, I know I'll get it eventually... but damn guys, it's hard to get an exact answer, next week, two weeks, next month, two months? I ordered from BBTS, they send me an email saying my stuff will arrive May 8th. I can track it via UPS. I know if there's a problem, they will fix it. I ordered from an eBay seller May 5th and got an email saying my Airtight figure will arrive May 8th. I can track it via USPS. If something happens, I have eBay, PayPal and feedback to rely on. But with the Club, it's sometime with in a few weeks/months time, and if I don't get it, it's because the Club has too much going on right now, or it's a problem with the factory, or the shipping company, and I need to learn to be patient. I have no recourse for satisfaction other than to just deal with it. And how dare I ask!! If I sold you something and gave you nothing but excuses, you'd be concerned too. That's what I don't understand about you guys. Why am I not allowed to be concerned that I have no idea where my product is? |

There was no point. Hasbro has nothing to do with how Fun Pub runs their business.
If you're trying to say that Hasbro should intervene since Fun Pub holds the Joe license and as a Hasbro stockholder you would like them to, then say that. But then ask yourself, why would they? If they didn't during the credit card fiasco, then why would they just because a figure is shipping late (and it's really not, it's just that Joecon was early and the Club made the mistake of saying they would ship the figure after the con, they should have just kept quiet and let it ship when it ships)? The Club makes money. Joecon makes money. We, the people that the Club is targeted towards (which frees Hasbro up to concentrate on Joe at retail), all still hand the Club money right and left. From Hasbro's end the Club is doing nothing wrong because they aren't losing money. Hasbro will really only care if the Club starts putting out bad product, which they don't, does something to hurt the brand name, which they haven't, or can't pay the license fee, which obviously they still can.

Am I happy about it? No. Should they be more upfront? Yes. But I'm not sure how this is helping... Last edited by cobraEdaco; 05-08-2013 at 01:02 PM.. |

After the second or third day of JoeCon I emailed them asking if I had missed paying or something because I honestly thought maybe my credit card screwed up and they emailed me back a week or so later and said the Icebergs would be shipping the end of that week... I don't think we're entitled to anything free for shipping delays, it would just be nice... It's good business. Maybe throw in one of those con Lady Jayes or one of the previous exclusives that they're throwing on clearance ... just something to say "Hey, we know we're late. We know China screwed up or whatever... Here ya go, take this on us and enjoy." It would probably turn alot of the negative reactions to the club to very positive ones.
